Bug picking up dropped items when you have no slots left

Happened yesterday when a friend dropped me a health potion, I didn't check my item slots (which were full) and when I picked it up it disappeared. Haven't tested it with the most recent patch but as it wasn't in the patch notes...

Is this a bug or expected behaviour? The potion simply disappeared! Haven't tested it again or with other items, will let you know as soon as I do!

lol at least you didnt drop the Akshandor artifact like I did.

I bought it for my team mate and when he picked it up it vanished

I dropped Cloak of Flames and my friend lost it
