So let us start at the start, Multiplicity is a beautiful program. Watching my mouse move from moniter to moniter seamlessly makes me giggle stupidly. But to charge $20 more to add file transfers, when it already supports clipboard copy/paste, is pure BS.

Wtf are you guys thinking? Any personal user would use it for 2 maybe 3 computers max, let us have our file transfer and charge the "Pro" users for additional computers, don't limit the usefulness of the program.

To use the same mouse and keyboard on two computers is without file sharing makes Multiplicity a gimmick. It's not a much more of hassle for me to type it manually than to use a single keyboard. To choose between Multiplicity + Filesharing + $50 vs a $5 usb bridge cable or windows networking, is a very easy choice.

I really like your program, but I'm not going to buy it because while it is cute, not having one of the key features that would make it essential to my work, also makes it completely useless to me.

I don't use the file sharing portion... when transfering big files (such as art) I find it freezes both my computers till the file is "copied"... if you're copying a file to the same computer, and accidentally copy-mouseover to other computer, it thinks that'st he destination and begins the file transfer.

The quick fix is just to create a shared folder on both your computers (or 3, or whatever) and do it the old fashion way.  I've found it both simple and effective to do it with a shared folder... you likely will to.

I don't think Multiplicity is "cute"... I think it's an essential program for my life now.  I honestly would not want to go without it for long periods of time...

 I downloaded a pirate version and you're absolutely right about the file transfering. Wish it was in the demo so I wouldn't have sounded like an idiot.. :-|

 

Ultimately I can live without the program.

A copy would freeze up the explorer window you are pasting into, but thats a compromise vs having to copy the file over the instant you switch machines.

That's pretty stupid.  You do realize this forum is run by Stardock, and that Stardock makes Multiplicity, the program you admit you stole?  How about the fact that Stardock's CEO regularly visits this forum in particular?

I mean, it's bad enough you downloaded a pirated version of the software, but rubbing it in the faces of Stardock employees?  Talk about gall.  You'll be lucky to not get banned.

If you had read my entire post, you would have understood that I uninstalled it after trying it out. In essence, a demonstration of the full program, something the demo didn't do.

I'm pretty sure Brad can take a bit of critisism without your wharrgarbl.

Being that the feature was listed on their website, and a free trial version was available from the same page, your statement doesn't make sense. One would know merely from using the free trial version if the missing feature was useful or not, which is kind of why the option to pay extra to get it exists. When a Demo isn't available, your reasoning applies. In this situation, I strongly disagree.

It's unwise.

There is a zero tolerance for warez use of Stardock's software.

This 'princess' isn't throwing you 'her' locks in rescue.
