Vista x64 - ObjectDock Plus

System Tray Support

I purchased Object Dock Plus today and downloaded the latest version using Impulse, which is at 3.21.389 build 1265. The Object Dock Version it gives me is 1.90 Plus Build 535u from 10/24/2008 according to Impulse.

This version gives the error message that showing the system tray is not supported in Vista x64, I see several messages about using stardock central from last year as a way to fix this issue, and downloading some ObjectDock beta that Impulse can not see to download.

Can anyone give any insight as Stardock Central no longer seems to see anything for ObjectDock for me.

I really want to eliminate the start manu but I need to see the system tray.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave

Thanks but I have purchased ObjectDock, it stated XP x32 only and all Vista compatibility which I took to mean x64 compatible when I bought it. Do any stardock employees post here that might reply with advice about object dock.

Being sent to another companies product is not what I had in mond when I came here for help.

Are there any plans to make this utility x64 compatible is there anything I can do to work around this flaw in the Object Dock without buying new software?

Anything at all before I request a refund or contest the charge if they will not refund?

Start a ticket with Stardock/support. They'll help you out with whatever problems you may have.

I already did, I just rather hoped that I was just doing something wrong...

If you uninstall OD+ using Impulse, you may be able to reinstall it using SDC and get the beta version. I'm not real sure on it as I haven't had SDC since Impulse was beta.

Could some one give a URL to SD Central I need it to get the beta of OD which is not availiable in Impulse. I googled it could not find the download for it. I tried an older version on Windows 7 it updated then the SD central crashed

I'd check the requirements again...

Minimum:    ( <--- This is slightly misleading though, I consider vista 64 an upgrade from 32 bit, which would be "more" than the minimum requirement, which it's not. But that's semantics, and I think most people read it as the "fixed" requirements they are.)

Windows Vista/XP/2003/2000 (32-bit)
20MB free drive space
256MB RAM

Impulse Requirements:  (<--- Impulse, NOT Objectdock)

Windows XP (32-bit) / Vista

End of quote

That is correct.  The requirements are listed as specifically 32bit.  The program itself will generally run in a 64bit environment, but some features are not supported/available.
