ObjectDock disables IE/Firefox internet connections for desktop shortcuts

I have a problem with ObjectDock:  If it is running - I have to click on the IE or Firefox icons on the objectdock to get browsing.  If I click on the windows IE shortcut, quicklink, or Firefox shortcut on the desktop - the browsers run (execute) but they do not connect to the internet.  When I exit ObjectDock (turn it off) the desktop/system browser shortcuts exhibit the same trait - they run, but do not connect to the internet.  I have to restart objectdock and use its shortcuts.

Any idea why this is happening or how to correct?  Re-enabling connectivity with and without objectdock running for the windows shortcuts.

I'm running windows xp with latest version of free objectdock and fences.

Thanks for your help in advance.

does weather or other docklets connect?

if not, check your fire wall to make sure odock is allowed

not sure why the desktop icons won't connect...

Yeah, everything works on the dock.

Just browsers run/clicked/launched from anywhere other than the dock don't work.

Very strange.

yes it is strange.

been running odock freeloader version for years and never had a problem

but I don't think you have an odock issue

close odock

run ie from the all programs menu - if it doesn't connect, check the internet connection settion in the tools
