Connectivity

So I got impulse this morning to use up my brothers awesome 50% off Demigod coupon and purchased the game using the impulse program.  Demigod is now sitting patiently in my games tab waiting for my to click install.  However, I get the "Impulse is currently connecting, please wait for impulse to connect to continue" error.  In fact, it's on screen right now.  Any suggestions as to why I can't connect to install my game and how to fix it?  I'll also add that the loading swirly in the top right corner is still spinning.  Thanks!
