Impressions of my first 10 Games

Iam thinking about asking for refund ;-( But I want to wait a bit. If then nothing changes. I will aks for it. THIS GAME IS SO FUCKING COOL! But nearly not able to play it sucks ;(

the new patch should solve most of your connection problems, if not try to contact the devs, they are tracking the remaining connection bugs.

For your crash, it must be a tricky bug, the game is pretty stable for almost everyone.

That's not true.  My computer is no where near crappy but I have gotten innumerable "Fatal Exception" windows pop up behind the game spelling its doom, random freezes (usually when the game is starting after matchmaking) which you can't control alt delete out of, and various lock ups and even the occasional rare "Crash to desktop with no explanation whatsoever"

well i have said for almost everyone^^, it is pretty shitty for some people but they do not seem to be so many (but it is almost impossible to evaluate). The game in itself is a real gem, but all of what is around seems to need one more month of devtime (the ui, the favor system, obviously the connection system, even the scores have problems).

I second Fred, its fine for almost everyone. I regularly play 1-2 matches online per night and several matches offline from time to time. No technical issues and not too hard to get a 2v2 or 3v3 going online.

I was having technical issues at 1 point but it just turned out to be data corruption due to fragmentation. I uninstalled demigod, did a full defrag overnight and reinstalled. Problems went away.

Stick it out guys. In 2-3 months you will have to rebuy otherwise, this game will be really awesome by then.

When it goes to the d/c screen for 30 seconds it just means the other team has quit. Not a bug or anything to do with Stardock (except for the fact u have to wait 30 secs).

Getting those problems too.

Strangely it was very good in BETA and right after release, for me. Then patch after patch it got worse. After patch 2 i even started to get CTDs.

Its quite a let down. And thats coming form a huge Stardock fanboy.

I appriciate the hard work that Stardock put into it the last weeks, but it doesnt solve the problem that i have a game i love to play, but cant.

I have played this game on 3 OS's now:

• Windows XP - Poor Hardware
  
• Windows 7 - Poor Hardware
  
• Windows Vista - Great Hardware
• Windows Vista - Good Hardware

I have yet to have any crashes on any of them.  Then again, I do take pride in keeping well maintained OS's.

Um yeah, my computer is well maintained, latest drivers and the works on XP.  No problems for other games (Fallout 3 crashed often but that was definitely their fault there considering they've fixed it in the mean time), but I get on average one crash a night (whether by fatal exception (most common), lockup or some other random problem) which is 3-5 games.

The fatal exception when it does occur is nearly always upon joining a game, and I think it's when you join a game that has fewer slots open than people trying to fill them, which happens a lot.

When someone says that this game is broken.. it just means that person has a higher standard for games aka they have played Blizzard games before.

If the game crashes during the game its gas powered. They are working on a patch 1.01v that fixes alot of these issues.

SD fixed the connection issues on thursday for the most part. Yes there are a few that still have issues but the vast majority does not have problems starten the game. We all have to realize after the game starts and shit happens that is gas powered area.

Name 1 company that keeps its customers in the loop as frog has. Name 1 company that hands out 50% coupons to rebuy the game or give it to a friend.Name 1 company that gives out 20% off any impulse game and alreeady stated more will come to loyal customers.

You all really need to call support now if your still havn the same problems you had 3weeks or more ago.

Well, I wouldn't be complaining about the occassional lag or drop or whatever. But 90% of all games not even going to completion is pretty harsh. Basically, most of the games I have tried now, somebody 30-secs. out in the first minute, and then people rapidly follow. And if somebody of your team gets kicked you have lost anyways because the AI just can't hold up. Some games don't even go up because of "connecting to players".

If you are telling me this is supposed to get better soon, I guess I will wait a week and if things are still that bad I'll try to get a refund.

On topic, the problem with me isn't getting in games, it's staying in them. People are often getting disconnected from each other mid-game. But a patch came out today and I haven't played since downloading it, so I'll give it a go and see if it's any better.

Not necessarily GPG. If the data they are getting from SD's infrastructure are outside of expected values, they really can't be blamed for that. However, if the changes that caused such things were necessary, then it will fall to GPG to update their code to handle those changes. I am guessing most of the problems this game has been having are netcode related as the only problem I've had has been the quad-sound slowdown, and I've played the hell out of single-player mode and only once played multiplayer (over LAN at that).

more to the topic, the latest patch should allow you to play at least 8 games out of 10 (there will always be problems that noone can solve, like people thinking that the netcode updates will miraculously change the fact fact that their connection is crap). the netcode mess seems to be over at least, gratz to the devs, and lets start playing.
