How are "experience" points determined?

Looking at the ladder(s), I can't see any pattern of how points are gained and lost. In the previous ladder I played around 70 games but only 14 were recorded and people with a better win/loss ratio than me were somehow ranked lower. Already I'm seeing that the #7 guy is 2-1 and the #15 guy is 10-0. He has more wins and less losses, and has only gained 2/3rds the experience. This is kind of confusing and makes the ladder system seem random/retarded.

The competative nature in me wants to play pantheon games because it's a "ladder" and my brain associates ladder with competition, but from what I'm seeing it's just total garbage.

Could someone shed some light on how the ladder system is handled and why the numbers are so strange?

Well, I don't confess to know it completely, but for one thing AI seems to gives much much lower xp. I played something like 43 games last pantheon, only 36 were recorded.  My ratio was 29 wins/6 losses and I got ranked below people with <11 games. The majority of my games were vs AI.

You are right, the pantheon exp is pretty retarded right now, since the exp it is based on for calculations is your overall rankings, so players who are high in the overall rankings will gain much less exp when they win and loose tons when they loose(yes even if they get a disc vs random n00b) so even if they manage to get flawless stats they will still be ranked like 2876 in the pantheon stats, while the players that are ranked low in the overall stats will have it real easy to get a high ranking, since every match they win they will gain tons more, and loose alot less if they loose in the pantheon.

Had there been an actual explanation/faq posted on how the system works, it would be much easier to spot the flawed logic behind it, but these conclusions have been made entirely thru trial and error, so may be slightly wrong but it is as it appears right now anyhow.

Yeah no idea how xp works but last night, in between ranting on boards about how pantheon doesn't work, I was waiting for a pantheon match and then got connected.. and I saw that one of them was the infamous KOREAslayer!!

Then I saw that everyone connected to each other and I was thinking, this game is gonna be great! My nerves were starting to jangle...

And then the game crashed before launch.

That was the most excitement I've had in pantheon for ages.....

There are no patterns. Server just randomly puts you somewhere. Seriously.

Anyone from [SD] able to comment on how points are tallied? It seems very confusing to me and in the many other posts i've come across the community seems to be in the same boat as me. Thanks~

its pretty clear the ladder is not working

and btw it doesnt matter much at all since the whole pantheon system has no sense in a competitive way

letshope something is coming soon, shouldnt be hard to put up a decent ladder system

That's a pretty standard way to rank people toward each other by skill level and not by grindiness and noob exploiting.

Remember guys, 100% win ratio doesn't mean you are one of the best, it means you only play games against people that are much weaker than you.
