non-standard resolution

OK, everyone is going to groan whan I say that I'm trying to play on my netbook, but hold that thought. I have installed the demo and it does play. I have a new ASUS N10J and as far as I know, it's the only netbook with discreet graphics. It sports an nVidia 9300m GS with 256 MB of dedicated RAM. I do have to turn the eye candy down and I have to make sure the AC is plugged in, but it does play. 

The issue I'm having is primarliy in the menu screens. I've edited the user.setting file to 1024 x 600 and the game does paly at that resolution. The problem is the menu screens are stuck at 1024 x 768 and I can't see the bottom which makes it rather difficult set up and start a game. 

Is there anything that I can do to get the menu screens to display at 1024 x 600?

Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz

2 GB RAM

320 GB HD

MS Vista 32bit (when I get an external DVD drive, I'll have the option of installing XP)
