Having trouble with Mods on DA?

A little help would be much appreciated.

Hey, I've been trying to get mods to work on Dark Avatar forever, but they are not working. Let me explain the situation more.

I had lost GalCiv2 when my computer crashed a few months back and reinstalled it on Impulse/Stardock Central, and Dark Avatar is in a subfolder in the GalCiv2 directory. Dark Avatar's Directory did not have a mod subfolder, so I copied the one from GalCiv2's Directory to Dark Avatar's Directory. (Note: Mods were not working even before this.) Oh, and Dark Avatar can only be launched by an icon from it's directory, an icon on the desktop gives me an error when I try to launch using it. Anyways, I open up the options menu on Dark Avatar, choose a mod and restart as usual (Note, it does say I have to restart for mod to work, so that's working.)  Then when I restart Dark Avatar, nothing happens. In the options menu it says I'm on the mod I've chosen, but it's just Dark Avatar default. I've tried this with different mods and it's always the same, so it's not the mods themselves. Any help would be appreciated, I have no idea what to do.

Oh, and mods work fine on GalCiv2:DL.

Even if you've copied a mods folder into DA's folder, it won't be used unless you set it to that location in the prefs.ini file or hit the Default button in the mod folder picker. Otherwise, it'll still be looking in the DL folder.

As to the launch error, you'd need to give more detail on that.

If you mean hit the default in-game at the options menu in the mod chooser, I've tried defaulting, restarting, using another mod, restarting, and it doesn't work still. And where would the prefs.ini file be located? And by set I assume you mean move/and/or somehow trigger it to allow using mods in its own Mod folder?

On the launch error: It says the lib3d.dll file isn't found.

Thanks for replying so soon, though.
