Ideas for the forum

Hi to dev,

I've been using more the forum recently because I like the game (demigod) and like the journals. However their is 3 things I don't like in the forum and I think you guys could add these features:

1- I would like to see the Post date of a topic. In the forum of journals, it is difficult to see what is the last post from Frogboy (or whatever dev post there). I think it would be nice to easily see what is the last new topic in there. Like, "Post by Frogboy at 12h34m34s 12 may 2009"

2- When we enter a topic, it would be nice to have something that actually show if someone from Demigod dev team have post in a topic. Like a small icon. And if we click on the icon it would bring us to their first reply. If that icon could be shown when we see the lsit of topic in a forum section also.

3- When we are in a Topic where dev have posted some replies, it would be nice to see (again) a small icon that we can click and that would redirect us directly to the next post from a dev. So we can see if someone from Demigod team have posted 2 or 3 or more replies.

If this is already in this forum:

1- I'm sorry

2- Could you tell me what I have not seen

3- I am a bad boy, I will play a game: me vs 5 Unclean beast at nightmare difficulty.

Thank you!

but you can see a post date of a thread.  You just have to open it.  I think having 2 dates on the main page might be confusing, and I support having the date of the most recent update over the original post date.   (if people saw the original post date, they might be less included to look at old threads, even though the last 2 pages of replies are all new)\\

I do support some sort of "dev post search" feature or something that lets us find if devs placed an update anywhere.  Then again, that might not be reliable since I know Draginol doesn't show up as a dev member, even though it IS frogboy.  (I have suspect that there may be other devs that lurk in the forums, but never reveal that they are the devs.  I would do that on my site if I were running a project like this, because when fishing for ideas from the community you can't announce you are a dev because it will suddenly sway a conversation in your direction, rather than just let you hear the 'honest' opinion of the community)

Well, I totally respect your idea, but I strongly think that it would be so much useful if we could see the Post created date. I don't know how it could be confusing if we see "Post created by Frogboy at 12h34 may 14 09", but if you think it is too much then ok.

For the fact that some Dev doesn't use the same account name.... well in a way we don't really care, no? The goal here is to go right away to official Dev post to see what they have to say. If Frogboy is using a "second" login to have real feedback from users (or whatever the reason is), it is not useful for us.

Anyway, these ideas come from using a lot the forum of World of Warcraft and those were some features I have difficulty to live without.

If I made you think, well at least I've done that!!

Thank you for the reply.

I'll see about adding the thread creation date in the forums pages.  I've seen this at various other forums and it is useful.

Interesting idea for the dev bit.  I can probably add something like that.  Only problem it is, it isn't easy for me to differentiate by the Demigod dev team or the Stardock support team or whomever, especially per forum (you don't really care what a Demigod dev has to say in the Wincustomize or Sins forums, for example).  I'll look into it and see what I can do though.
