The day the earth stood still

Hello,

I have a problem with my rotating earth deskscape. It's my favorite one, I've always used it, then one day, it just disappeared. I have re-downloaded stardock and really tried everything I can think of. Is there a link to download just that desktop? Any idea why it didn't come with the rest when I re-downloaded? Thanks

If you have deskscapes installed it should be in the .dream folder. It won't just disappear into nothingness. Do you have Impulse? If so open it and check to make sure it hasn't been accidentally deleted. More than that I can't say. You'll need to contact either stardock/support or wait until someone else responds to this thread. Sorry I couldn't do more for you.

Humm, I think the dream your looking for is "Desktop Earth.dream" but it doesnt seem to be available as a seperate download in the gallery. Try and do a HD search for desktop*.dream and maybe you can find it somewhere on your system. If all else fails send support an email with your account info and maybe they will be kind and send you the file. I would email it to you but am sure Stardock would frown on that, sorry.

Only other thing I can think of is backup your My Documents/stardock/dreams folder so you don't lose any of your other dreams you may have collected. Then completely uninstall the Dream App and then re-install it using impulse if you haven't already tried that

To try and resolve this issue, try verifying the application through Impulse.  This should fix up the .dream file if it is corrupted/missing/whatever.  If you need to, you may download Impulse here: http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe .  Once Impulse is installed it will give you the option to create a Stardock.net account if you haven't already.  If you already have an account, but forgot the password, Impulse also will give you the option to retrieve your account information.

To verify the application through Impulse:

-Launch Impulse.  Right click on the entry for the application and choose "Verify application"
-Impulse will check the integrity of the installed application.  You should be given feedback as to the state of the installed application.
-If errors are found, an update should be made available in Impulse.  This is not an update to a newer version, but simply Impulse using the update mechanism to replace corrupted files.
-Once the update completes, reboot your PC.
