Mercanaries of Xero - Clan Recruitment

www.moxclan.com

Before you say anything, yes, Mercanaries IS an intentional mispelling, and that's a long story I really don't feel like elaborating upon.

Anyhoo, Mercanaries of Xero, as you can tell by the topic title, is recruiting.

Who We Are: Mercanaries of Xero, or MoX, as we like to call it, is a gaming clan operated by a couple of close friends (one of them being myself) who live in Fresno, California. We used to be pretty big in Guild Wars back in the day, with a couple of us, though not the guild itself, being well known in the community until we quit playing due to work and whatnot two years ago. Well, after two years of drifiting between games that required a lesser time investment to be competitive, we came back to Guild Wars a couple weeks ago. Now, the other main members are busy coding their own MMO on the weekdays, so, we can't really do anything GW related during the weekdays. As such, I've decided to make an extention of the clan in Demigod, since this is pretty much the only game I play other than Guild Wars. We don't have an official website up yet, persay, but, we don have a forum and a 100-slot Ventrilo server.

Our Objective: MoX was and still is first and foremost a competitive gaming clan. No matter what game we play, we always strive to be as good as is possible competitively, as we find high-level competition to be the most enjoyable form of gameplay. With the Demigod community being quite new, it is my desire, for MoX to make a mark on the fledgling Demgod competitive community.

Who We're Looking For: So long as you want to play competitively, have a desire to become better, are willing to follow instructions, and won't mind being critiqued by your Demigod-playing peers, well, we want you. Since we will be playing in the US league whenever its developed (ESL is European, I believe), if you wish to play in league, it is preferable that you live in a time zone as close to GMT-8 as possible. If you don't have any desire to play in league and simply wish to play with other competitive players, well, then, your time zone doesn't matter, though, if you're European or Australian, make sure your connection's really, really good. Since the only language I know that's actually spoken is English (Why did I take Latin...), it is necessary that you speak English. Also, this should go without saying, but, you NEED Ventrilo and a microphone since communication is absolutely necessary to be a competitive player.

How To Join: Sign up at our forums at http://forum.moxclan.com/ and hop on to our Ventrilo server. The hostname is mox.guildvent.net and the port number is 5700. Even if you don't want to join, you can still use our Ventrilo server.

Thanks for reading this and if you're interested, I'd love to see you hanging on our Ventrilo server in the future.

EDIT: Our new site is up at www.moxclan.com.

EDIT 2: New forum address.

Darkshineknight is a great fellow, should really check him out guys. He's been working quite hard to get people involved in stronger gameplay through the use of vent and bringing players together for in-house games.

Nah, he's a relative of Xero (the head honcho) and a personal friend of mine and Hombre (one of the other main officers) IRL. He's played with us in a bunch of games prior to GW, but, we just got him started playing GW a month and a half ago. He's already better than most of the players we know, which says something about GW players. :P

Hey Darkshine.

I just wanted to apologize for leaving vent abruptly over the weekend.  We had some pretty good games but tbh me and my friends got tired of one of the guys on vent that night.  After those few games we just wanted to break away and play some pubbies.  Anywho I do think that you did well and were a good sport.  I hope to play with and against you more in the future.

Heh, totally understandable. Actually, I don't think I even realized you left abruptly. At least, I don't remember, anyways. S'hard to remember everything when you're working on a mathematics research project and studying for finals at the same time. :P

Ya we left after the exile game because someone asked me and my friends to not play with each other.  We thought that was going a little bit too far considering a large draw to this game is playing with your friends.  To be honest it doesn't feel good to lose and I can understand some frustration, but we felt it went a little to far.

I'll try to log into vent more often and maybe we can get some games together.  I am looking for somewhat of a regular play group to have fun with.  Much of the time my buddies and I dont get to play together so I am pubbing it solo.

Just joined the forums and vent.  I've been looking for competetive people to play with that use vent, I can't wait to meet up with everyone.

Well, so far, it's going pretty slow. There's not much interest in Demigod clans right now. I imagine more people are going to want to hop on board come late July/early August when the clan update is expected to be released.

I don't really want to reg for forums for a Clan that I may not join, is there an alternate application process?
