Problems with Windowblinds, Mycolors and fetching 4 free mycolors themes

Hi everyone this is my first post here so take it easy and don't bash me for being stupid ;)

I have just purchased ObjectDesktop Ultimate and I am having issues with Windowblinds and Mycolors.

In Impulse I have verified all my software and all of them are fine but wb and mc.

I verify them and impulse says there is an update, the problem is that both wb and mc wants to update to the exact same version that is already installed which makes me think that there is something wrong with these two apps in my case? I have installed the so "called" updates several times and rebooted as instructed by impulse several times...

The reason for me starting to verify all my programs was that as a subscriber you are supposed to get 4 free mc themes but I only have the free Think Green mc theme (which is really nice imo) installed (another wierd thing here is that this theme is grayed out and shown as a free download under my software tab in impulse but the theme and all its different parts are available in all the different skinning apps including mc) and would like to have these 4 free themes and then I stumbled upon this "bug".

So my real question here is how do I get my 4 free mc themes and how do I fix the verify/install problem with wb/mc?

Edit: Here is the system info from wb:

I couldn't find system info from the MC app?

I am running MC with a swedish language pack if this makes any difference.

When verifying installation, first verify MyColors. If it's ok, close Impulse, reopen and check WindowBlinds. Don't try to check one after the other as you'll get a wrong answer. It's an Impulse bug, probably because MyColors uses WB files...so they end up shared between the apps.

After updating MC or WB you may have to reboot. Do so. Then check the other app.

To download the themes (free), they should appear as available to you in Impulse and in MC.

I started of with WB and verified it, it says it has an update and the update number is exactly as the one before. I reboot after it has installed the "update".
After booting up I go into impulse and verify MC it says the same dialog as usual (There is something wrong with your install, check if there is any updates) and a update shows up with the same version number as before... Impulse tells me to reboot and I do so. When I boot up again I decide to first install the Think Green MC theme which I am currently using but has not shown up as installed in Impulse...

I then start up MC and it tells me in the application that there is an update, I install it and it tells me to reboot, so I reboot once again now.

I have yet too see those 4 free MC themes that are supposed to be included in the subscription, you know how to get them or maybe why I don't see them in impulse?

Edit: I believe when I drag around windows on my desktop with a WB enabled it doesn't feel as smooth as using the original vista theme, is this just me or is this something that commonly known? :(

I have been VS hacking alot before using WB now and I finally got tired of the inconsistency and the hacking that was required everytime you wanted to apply a VS and it was actually this that made me take the jump and pay for OD :)

So far the experience has been alot more consistent with WB which was what I wanted the most out of it

A thing I do miss is that WB doesn't seem to skin is the commandprompt, why is this?

Sorry for all the off-topic here and there I just felt I wanted to share my thoughts a bit :)

That might be a question of the amount of RAM you have, your graphics card memory or both...

My Impulse and MC behave the same way. Please open a ticket at support@stardock.com.

As to why your downloads (4 themes) haven't appeared in Impulse/MC...I don't know. BUT:

Q: I don't see the theme I purchased. How do I add it?

A: When you purchase a MyColors™ theme you will receive an e-mail that includes a registration code. Click on the My Themes tab and then on the Add Registration button to start downloading your theme. Enter your e-mail address (the one we sent the registration code to) and the registration code then click OK. Your theme will begin downloading automatically.

If you don't see that email in your email you used to purchase it, then check your spam folder...it might have been stuck there by your email program.

I have 4 gigs of high speed RAM and a Radeon 4870 graphics card and a pretty high end computer as a whole so I don't think the hardware is limiting the software in any way, you don't get this feeling in Vista in any way?

I have recieved an email with all the purchase details for my OD ultimate purchase, but as I haven't purchased any MC themes I have no registration codes for any such, the 4 MC themes I am talking about are supposed to be included in a one year OD subscription for free according to this site: https://www.stardock.com/products/odnt/

Under benefit it says : "Object Desktop Subscribers Now Receive 4 Free Themes Annually!" and it is this I am referring to, not saying this to insult you in any way I just wanna make sure we understand each other :)

Oh and thanks for all your help DrJBHL it is really appreciated:)

If you still got remnants of Visual Style hacks in your system that could be your problem.

try this.......

start menu

accessories

command prompt

type sfc /scannow

Maybe, Lantec...but his problems are similar to mine with MC and Impulse and I never used VS.

Still....if you never did a restore of your original OS (hopefully you have that on disc or backed up somewhere)...it would  be a good thing to do before installing your ODNT Ultimate.

I agree with Lantec.

red x 'windows can't find sfc/scannow '

ok I also wanted to try the console command, but you have to be a logged in adminstrator to do the sfc command, how do I give myself admin rights in cmd?

And you are so right Lantec...

The thing with the non-smooth movement when dragging windows could be the VS hacking, I actually remember that I forgot to unpatch the uxtheme...

Will come back with results :)

Thanks for the tip/reminder Lantec! :)
