Why do they keep disappearing?

Alright, some info before I go to the heart of my problem.

Usually I'm playing on the Xbox 360. That's where I get the basic idea of achievements from.

 

So, now I'm playing Demigod. I see the "Achievements" bit in the main menu. After playing a couple matches with Rook, I finally got the "Rook the Initiate" achievement, for example. I turn off Demigod afterwards and when I come back and check my achievements, the one I just earned is gone, for whatever reason. So I played a quick squish match against easy AI to get the achievement back. Then I hopped into multiplayer, played some matches (got creamed, of course, since MP plays totally different than SP) and when I checked if I ulocked other achievements, I had to notice that my "Rook the Initiate" achievement was greyed out AGAIN.

 

Am I having just some trouble understanding Stardock's take on the achievements or is this a bug?

Achievements are ridiculously buggy right now. Stardock + GPG is working on fixing the favor items and achievements list so that it won't completely reset like that (at least, I hope that's one of the things they're worrying about). Until then, enjoy the sparkly huge letters resounding your continuous success!!!

Achievements are being worked on as we speak.  Expect an update to the website too so you can track your achievement progress online as well as see how others are doing.

I have an odd request. For some reason a bunch of my online acheivements show as unlocked when I haven't completed them yet. Is there a way for you to reset my online favor/acheivements without me creating a new account?

Are you looking at the Impulse achievements section?  Those are inaccurate for the time being.  What it's doing is that anytime you get a part of an achievement (as in, you get 1 kill for the get 1000 kills achievement), Demigod sends a request to the server with progress.  Unfortunately this was unforseen as the intention was that Demigod would only send us completed achievements.  We are working with GPG now to rewrite our system in a way that allows for either case (sending us achievements that are completed and sending us achievements that are in progress).  That way, we can show you how far along you are in completing an achievement on the website and Impulse.

No, I'm looking at the acheivements in Demigod itself. When I'm in single player they are all greyed out and I have 150 favor points (haven't played much sp). After I login (in Demigod) to play on the internet, if I go back and check my acheivements about half on each character are unlocked and I haven't completed them so I can't/won't get favor from unlocking them...and my favor total reset to 0 again after the latest patch.

Perhaps you will be resetting everyone's acheivements/favor when the patch is done? I just want to be able to earn them when it is fixed as the acheivements provide a nice source of extra favor.

I'm not entirely sure. They are highlighted in Demigod like they are unlocked, I can't seem to find an acheivement section in Impulse itself. I'm content waiting until they are fixed. I was just curious if the acheivements would reset once everything was working correctly.

Shock - Yes, each acheivement is worth favor points equal to the value on the right of the acheivement in Demigod.
