Game works 100% fine for me

After the latest patch with the direct connect, i am able to join games within seconds and dont have any problems connecting to other people. I am on the beta version and apparently alot of other ppl are too, the custom game list was showing somewhere around 10 active games ready to be joined.

All you have to do is:

Router - Port forward, uncheck "block anonymous internet requests, disable router firewall

Firewall and anti virus - I turned them all off, not standbye.. they are closed

ImpulseReactorOptions - this is an exe in the bin folder, put in the same numbers as your router (port forward)

That is all i have done, so far zero disconnects and have even played with people with 250+ ping.

I wold love to change to beta, but the problem is that i dont have permission to change anything in my router, mainly because is not mine, im just tagging along in this connection, so my question would be, does it work good without port fowarding and such?

Disabling the router firewall is not recommended and is possibly not necessary since youalrady foward the ports.

So I sugest to keep it on if it work with it

Yeah, no complaints here, either.  I was able to catch a quick game with tassox earlier, and i was blown away by how quickly I was able to get in game.

Good bye, GameRanger!

Hello, Europe here, you know where history is from and all

after having played three games online and have been trying to connect 100s of times i am slightly annoyed in general. praise frogboy and stardock and all, but their forum posts and updates is of completely no use to me seeing as the bloody game still doesn't work as it was intended..

Ahh, that helped.. Now flame me or whatever it is that fanboys do when someone rains on their parade.

Protip: Buy your own internets. What you are doing is t3h illegalz.
Then again, if someone is stupid enough NOT to secure their wireless router, maybe you oughta steal bandwith.

Using unsecured wifi (at least in the US) to access the internet is legal last I knew (it may have changed).

Using unsecured wifi to access other computers on the network or gain access to the router itself is illegal.

I'm from Europe too. Still no joy. In my network I can't forward ports (huge network, I'm not the admin) so I'm stuck with whatever Stardock cooks up on their end. The game is awesome when I play on Hamachi with friends, on Impulse everything I ever get are bots, endless connections screens or kicks. If I decrease my security settings any further I might as well call my gaming machine a public FTP server. :)

We had a poll and so far roughly 50% of our European users werent able to play via Impulse at all. I hope the proxy servers will bring that close to 100% but I'm not looking forward to being kicked from games because my ping is a little higher than usual. Official release is on May 14th in Europe, better work fast dear Stardock networking gurus. Good luck, I hope you can work it all out in time!

Why do you assume he's stealing the internet access, rather than being permitted to use it by the person who does own it?

Very interesting that you said that, since i didnt complain nor asked for anything, but its not rare to see people needing to atack other people to feel good with themselves.

Ducking there is no need to flame you because you are right. It should work for everyone, and you should bitch untill it is fixed.

My only wish is that favor/acheivements would work and possibly the sound issues (slow down when on, game is unplayable with 5.1/quad settings. Have to run in stereo). Then we are in business! But still, great improvements! I can get into a lobby in under 10 secs now.
