wbconfig.exe.mdmp error

Downloaded & installed the latest version (the installed seemed to go ok)

Running Windows XP (SP3) – AV software disabled during install

After install the console opens up so you can apply the skin

I can apply the new skin however it seems to hang once it’s applied

The console goes white and does not respond

(In the title bar of the console it says building skin list)

I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to close the console box

It says the program is not responding and wants to send an error report

This is the information in the reports

szAppName : wbconfig.exe szAppVer : 6.2.0.0 szModName : hungapp

szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000

C:\DOCUME~1\WICKED~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER0723.dir00\wbconfig.exe.mdmp

C:\DOCUME~1\WICKED~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER0723.dir00\appcompat.txt

If I try to reopen the console it will open but does not respond at all (its all white)

The only way I can open the console and access it is to unload windows blinds

As soon as I change the skin and apply the settings it starts off all over again

I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling

 Any help is appreciated

Which version are you installing, free or paid and where did you download from?

Did you reboot after the install?

Do you have any other customizing apps installed?

Will the configuration window stay on long enough to copy the info from the System Information tab? If so copy and paste it here.

I did have StyleXP installed but had already uninstalled it, It no longer worked after updating to SP3, I also uninstalled PodXP

The only other program I use like that would be Logon Loader

I purchased the program, downloaded and installed via Impulse

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.4 (build 73 x86)

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC
WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

When I compare my sysinfo to your sysinfo you are missing Wbload.dll

If I were you I would copy this info and a description of what is happening and open a ticket at support@stardock.com

Wizard, look at your sysinfo (you have XP, I have Vista). Does your sysinfo have Wbload.dll in yours? Please compare with Wicked's info.

You might try uninstalling WB with CCleaner or Revo Uninstaller (both free on the web) rebooting and reinstalling through Impulse.

Hope tomorrow is better for you, Wicked....don't tell me....you have a wicked headache.  X|

Sorry. I should be ashamed.......but I'm not.

If it makes you feel any better (it won't) I've been at war with Impulse for about 10 days now.

End of DrJBHL's quote

Surprisingly enough I get a great deal of pleasure knowing others are suffering lol

I sent a ticket in so I guess we shall see what happens

I did come across something regarding an HP printer issue..  but sad to say I don't have that hpqtra08.exe running in the task manager not sure if it makes a diff but I do not have wbconfig.exe in there either

If you use WindowBlinds to apply Windows Classic or Windows XP Style (on Windows XP) or Windows Aero (on Windows Vista), and hpqtra08.exe is running, the WindowBlinds Configuration dialog may lock up.

To recover from this problem:

1.      Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to bring up the Task Manager

2.      Click the Processes tab

3.      Find hpqtra08.exe and wbconfig.exe and end both processes.

4.      Launch WindowBlinds from the System Tray icon, Start Menu shortcut or from the file directly (C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds\wbconfig.exe)

I have a HP printer and show hpqtra08.exe (digital imaging monitor)running in taskman and have never had this problem. I apply Aero from WB config once in a while and have never had any trouble at all. Btw,I have always had Vista Doc,no EX-P for me. I'm not familiar with StyleXP but could it have borked your OS to the point that XP needs to be reinstalled?

Just an update...

I hope I don't have to reinstall.. I hate doing it.. takes me ages to get it back how I want it..
Stupid Windows  lol

Got a reply from support... They suggested I run sfc /scannow

Everything must of been ok with my files because nothing showed up in the box after i ran the scan..

Oh well.. I will wait to hear more from them
