Coz I can't even get it to install, says it's not compatable with my version of windows.

Perhaps not...

Impulse must be installed in order to download and update software.
Is it worth dl impulse, what I mean is would that definately get objectdock to work or just maybe? Never heard of impulse b4, why is this essential for me to install OD? sorry for all the questions ![]()
Impulse will do a check and will not let you install OD on Windows 7 per Zubaz's reply in this thread. LINK
Its just like a downloader. Its needed in order to download and update software. You might consider it as Stardock Distribution Channel.
OD is not for win 7 now. should be in future, not sure. No point anything can let u run it on win 7.
BTW,
stupid questions
don't mind just a joke.
Pleas Dont reply "I won't mind for your equally or more stupid answers"
Got it to work straight away after installing impulse. Cheers for the help ![]()
If you managed this, please share with the Community how you managed as others have had difficulties.
Objectdock Plus works fine on Win7 RC 64 here. How did i get it to you work, you ask? well, i installed impulse first. then, i clicked on Objectdock Plus to highlight it and then clicked on Install. VIOLA! piece of cake!

if we had a "I'm brilliant" smiley, i'd use it, too.
So I was incorrect,but I blame ZubaZ.![]()
The standalone ObjectDock install said it was not compatible with Windows 7, but I installed Impulse and installed the free version of OD from the Impulse menu and it works fine. ![]()
Version 1.90 build 537u does work, this is the version which is downloaded from the old stardock central. the version that you get from impulse 535U is not as compatable. It will report start menu does work on x64 processors where 537u does work.
Also to get sysstats to work you need to run OD in administrator mode.
However this does cause start problems when you get it to autoload on vista and W7 RC, will prompt for administrator credentials.
I have put a shortcut in the startup folder and this allows it to operate OK.
Only problem running from startup folder is that not all of the system tray icons will show correctly.
hope this helps
I have it running aince release 1700, a couple of days ago I installed Windows 7 RC 64 bits and it worked just fine. As nzvoyager explains I started by installing impulse from where then installed ObjectDock Plus 535U. Then installed Stardock central to update it to 537u. All seems to work without (many) problems.
Some docklet (downloaded from the OD gallery) will not work or have issues (some of mine among them). Currently I am working with both Vista & Windows 7 to troubleshoot compatibility issues with my docklets.
I installed it just fine via Impulse on Windows 7 32 bit and all features and functions are working fine for me.
