Strategy tips for noob

So I launched myself into this game and the multiplayer. And find myself getting owned ofc . SO Could anyone give some strategy tips, hints and tacs? There is so much possibilities to do with your gold i can't seem to find a focus. Also on the demigod's they all play so differently can someone gives some clues as to combine what with what?
