[Background]: The Ancient Magi of Mount Teshhar known for their discipline in arcane arts and knowledge of the old ways have always encircled their lands with protective wards against demonic planes. The several villages that surrounded Mount Teshhar looked to the Magi for wisdom and guidance in the unknown. Every generation the Council of the Magi would visit the villages and bless the young with long life, occasionally taking those found strong in spirit and teaching them their ways. In the Age of the Shadow Moon, an Arch Magi known as Vaus chose a young pupil of age eight from the Wilnai village. His name was Norn Yrun renamed Drel Lu’mas as it was custom of the Magi to sever any former relationships their pupils may once had.
Since the Age of the Serpent there have been secret gatherings of families who despised the Magi for taking their children from them. These villagers conspired against the Magi, carefully orchestrating their downfall, as they believed that the wards set in place to protect them from other planes were merely lies spun to gain control over the villages. As the conspiracy spread, the villagers joined with a Magi who was also displeased with the traditions of his people. He told them of the wards and how they were powered by sacred crystals and how removing the sources would put an end to their lies.
The night before they set their plan in motion Drel awoke from a nightmare. Greatly troubled he sought his master who was studying in his tower chambers. Drel burst through the chamber doors startling his mentor.
“Master! I have seen the temples and villages in flames… I have seen the wards shattered and the barriers between worlds broken! It was as clear as the others…” said Drel.
Vaus smiled and replied “Such a thing is impossible young one. Even if the wards were to fail us, it would only take a single Magi to prevent the end of days. You must be mindful of your visions; spirits of different alignment surround us at all times. You must learn to decipher dreams as they are... understanding will come in time.”
“…but it was so real, it felt real. Even now it seems… something is in motion… like the eyes of our enemies are gazing upon us… can you not sense it master?” said Drel.
“I do not. Things are at peace. You’re allowing yourself to be influenced by negative spirits, pay them no attention. Get some rest, I shall hear no more of this tonight.” replied Vaus.
Frustrated, Drel returned to his room but was unable to sleep. Drel visited his favorite spot on Mount Teshhar that night and looked upon the villages below. Moments later he heard explosions from the north and east temples and a rift in time and space twisted the fabrics of the physical plane forming two unstable portals to the Abyssal Realm. Demons began to pour in like a flood and evil spirits overtook Drel’s mind causing him to fall backwards and clutch his head in agony as he witnessed the slaughter of Magi and villagers below.
After regaining control of his mind, Drel descended to the villages below heading towards the north temple. Underlings of the Abyss were no match for Drel’s power being easily cast aside with energy bolts. Drel reached the temple and what towered above him made his blood run cold; it was one of the Devil Kings of the Abyss, H’thron The Insatiable who was tearing apart an Arch Magi. He set his eyes upon Drel and entered his mind. Drel clawed his head in agony and fell to the ground screaming, though his cries could drown out the voice.
“For eons I yearned to taste the flesh of mortals, to battle your kin in an endless war that would cause blood to run as a great river! But… I am displeased. Are all in your realm so weak?! Is this the pinnacle to your might?! No, YOU… you’re different… Hah! Your potential is untapped! You’ve been held back… perhaps there is one who can yet provide a challenge, YES!” said H’thron.
The Devil King wraped his claws around Drel’s head and picked him up.
“Consider yourself fortunate, for you have been found worthy of an Evil Eye! When I return, you will decide the fate of this pathetic world! Until then… enjoy the boon foolish mortal!” said H’thron.
H’thron releases Drel and walks back through the portal into the Abyssal Realm taking is underlings with him. The portals are soon closed and Drel stumbles up with his Evil Eye open. Losing himself, Drel drifts towards the villages.
It was later when he learned to resist the Evil Eye that he realized the truth. The vision of his homeland in flames was not by the hands of the Devil Kings, but his own.

=======
I thought a character with a third eye that controls Gazers would be interesting to play (hope everyone knows what a Gazer looks like). I tried to make his abilities mind and evil oriented to go along with his story. Regardless if anyone takes a liking to these Demigod character ideas, I’m having fun writing them up.
Let me know what you think about Jagan. Thanks for reading.
