My team lost.....

...yet we got more Favor Points than the other team due to gaining every award by the "Flags" one.  And because it's a Pantheon game, that means even if it's considered a lose it's more of a win for the Forces of Darknes.

Basically, it was already kind of a lose at the start because it was a Rook and Sedna versus two Torchbearers on a 4xFortress map.  The Rook is all anti-building and stuff, so that was like "duh, they're going to win" at the beginning; however me and my teammate still fought through to the end.  We took out one of their fortresses, but they've taken out two of ours.   Kills were piling up for our side as they kept just charging and dying while we kept backing up as much as possible when getting low on health.  In the end, both of us were level 20 and we had almost every single Citadel upgrade (only ones we didn't have was 2x XP ones and 2x death penalty ones).  The game was 47 and 1/2 minutes long and was very, very fun.

This reminder is to tell those that rage quit a game to stop doing so.  A lose in the map isn't necessarily a lose overall in a grander scheme of things.  It just depends if you're better at playing against your enemy enough to gain the awards for gameplay over them.

I can't agree more.

I just finished was has to be my single biggest comeback in Demigod so far. Pantheon match, rook and oak (me) vs UB and TB in the flag capture game. We got off to a horrible start feeding them kills pretty much for the first bit of the game and they were able to hold the xp flag which only made things worse. My team essentially tried to lock flags if we could, which only happened a few times because the UB was on us everytime.

When we finally reached 5000 pts the other team had maybe 6500, which like any normal person would think it is a done deal. However my team kept plugging away and by this time I was able to start killing TB and UB if things went my way which allowed us tp push out and take a few flags.

By the time they had 7500 they had enough gold to purchase giants and I assume a bunch of gear for themselves. Our citadel was constantly under siege, but I was still out trying to cap flags. I think we prolly had around 6200 at this point.

Somehow the other team stayed focused on pinning us in our spawn area, but you could tele out. I was at lvl 20 or right near it so I woulc run into the back of their base and cap the flags bypassing the towers completely. There were 5 total flags in their base area, two portals, two gold and another I cant remember. I capped all but the one I cant remember. By about 8750 we had closed to 8000, still not that close of a game.

We continued this strategy of portaling out and capping flags, usually which ended in us dying after a we capped a flag or two. we finally overtook them at maybe 9750, literally right before the game ended, and won by at most 200 points.

Both me and my mate only got the 75 favor points for winning as the other team mopped up on all other aspects.

SO, yes those rage quitters need to learn that a game aint over till its over. This is the most impressive of my recent comeback streak, maybe 6 games in the last three days. I know I tend to go behind early on playing as oak only to roar back mid to late game, which I am sure is part of the reason I was able to pull wins out of presumed losses.

Noob...
Rook is a mage slayer! you could pwn them both

When i play Rook, TBs and LEs running away when they see me
The trick is to focus on HP and ignore armor, sure you have problem with melee damage but
overall your HP can keep you fighting long enough for the enemy DG to run away

when you get Heart of Life + Mage Slayer no one can stop you

Except for another dg with a heart of life and a mage slayer or higher.

Nope, i checked, Rook got slower attack but almost twise the damage
even Vs UB, the UB attacks faster but the damage is lower then that of the Rook
Rook attack slower but hit harder, and with the combination of much more HP he can kill a UB
Dont forget that in addition to the Rook normal attack, he also got archers and laser tower
and, depands on your build, you can make few towers in addition to all that
so that your DPS is in fact higher then any other DG in the game.
(Rook normal attack + Mage Slayer + Archers + Laser + Towers + Hummer ever 6 seconds = pwning damage)

played my first multi yesterday 2v2.. sedna/ub against ub/regulus (me).. my so called ally rage quit after his first death. I found that rather annoying, but just played along. after losing the emo-kid my AI-ally sucked of course - but the game overall was fun =) I even managed to get a few levels ahead for a while.. until they got giants and I didn't even get to angels (not enough war rank) *g*

summary: even if its clear you'll lose the game.. you can still try to be a pain in the ass and have fun doing it ;-)

actualy, focusing on armor and hp comes in a nice package for the rook, so you neednt ignore one of them. (and there aren't items around that buff hp so much that they come out better than a combo betwen armor and hp.)

As a rather mana unintensive demigod, you do not need many anhancing items, perhaps a potion and later the heart but no equipment. Even a tower rook does best with going all turtle, because you can always go in and hit em hard while your towers provide you with a safe haven.

As far as quiting goes: you still get favor if you play decently even if youre alone. + 50 favor  and keeping your "dignity" as a player by not quitting is actualy reward enough. + you will have a decent game. you CAN go support the ai yknow. sure the ai isnt exactly overwhelming, but if you help along you can still snatch some kills or make advancement, aka getting more favor.

hmm ur talking about  how much hp 8k  and that doesn't count for the time to set up ur towers  and ur forgeting that the dude was a oak not a rook

rook is the best defensiv demigod and can be a good attacker if u slowly advance with towers backing u up

but ur  talking about lvl 10+ with 8k gold so that is quiet a bit and u didn't count into the fact ur other bits and bobs

plus regulus proberly equiped lvl 10+ can pwn any demi  on average most regs do about 500 dmg per shot so  that is alot of dmg  not counting crits which there are 2 items in the normal shop and 1 in artifact shop

1 for 3k

1 for 3.3k

1 for 18k

i personally prefer getting all off them if im reg

levelheaded ur right but  depending on ur dude and when the team mate rage quits it can be annouying  i  usually stay in a game if i nearly lost or if i got nothing better to do

but i dont like astaying in a game with people who dont even speak it is like they are better bots  a game with talking is a better game even if half the players leave

and u got luck dude who posted the thread keep playing and u will get better and better and hopefully ur luck will stay with u
