3rd Expansion, what do we think/what would we like it to be?

So i was just thinking about it, we have a microexpansion for defense right? some people may say combat also, but i dont know.

then we have a microexpansion for diplomacy, fair enough, though i have a feeling that we'll also get some more combat upgrades in the next ex pack.

so i was thinking... those are pretty much the two biggest parts of the game, either fighting or talking about fighting... so... what will the third ex pack be?

 

some people have postulated it will have some sort of story, some people have postulated it will be about economy, some have even imagined it will be a totally dedicated combat expansion to finally finish the war.

 

so yeah, what are your thoughts?

I'm almost sure the 3rd one will brind the "Unknown Race" that put the Vasari on the chase to the game...the rest is just suppositions

I'm not so sure, I mean if it wiped out the dark fleet, surely whatever it is wouldn't fit into the technological context and also be defeatable. I mean surely it would wipe out the TEC and advent as they are roughly the same power as the weakened vasari fleet remnants.

I sort of hope it stays as just background story so the idea of the danger isn't diminished, though I wouldn't mind a few hints as to what it is i.e robots or phase space monsters or whatever.

Just wanted to be sure.  In the movie/entertainment idea they explicitly can't use fandom stuff unless they solicit it.  Good news.  I've seen lots of great ideas thrown on the forum.

I'd love a single player campaign, but the devs have said that is unlikely unless it is something really unique/good and they don't see a way to do that they way they'd like to yet.

 

With expansion 2 being pushed back, I'm beginning to wonder if 3 will happen at all.
