DEVS - bug or feature? End the complaining please.

I either play Oak or Sedna, both of which the first thing I do when I start is buy the level one priest idol.

Then when I have enough for the next level priest idol I sell the old one and buy the next in line. I do this till I have the most powerful idol.

I also do the same with the archer idols.

The problem is when I cast the new idol the old units (from the last idol) do not disappear.

So if nobody kills me or the minions it can result in me having up to eight priests and eight archers following me around.

I will not stop upgrading my idols as it makes me more powerful.

A lot of people think that I am exploiting and it's very annoying, since all I am doing is playing the game.

Can I have a response from the devs as to when this will be fixed so the whiners can stop the whining?

It has been like this since beta and has been brought up an amazing amount of times on the forums without any response from SD/GPG over the past few months.  I don't think they plan on changing it.

Well, logically, why should the "old" units suddenly disappear?

Logic doesn't belong in a computer game outside balance.

If I remember correctly, they've at least acknowledged the problem on IRC, but I don't remember if they said exploit or feature.

I see it as a feature; the lesser ones die quickly, and it is a costly endeavour if you plan on doing it every time they die. It has its ups and downs. Like all features do.
