Turn button anomaly

I thought the anomaly with the "Turn" button was solved a long time ago. I remember several months (maybe a year) ago the latest patch had the "Turn" button anomaly where you'd click the turn button and it the game would sit there into infinity? I thought Stardock fixed that. I've reinstalled and updated to the latest version using Impulse but I'm still getting that anomaly.

Is it fixed or not? Anyone else getting this?

It's a shame...this is actually a fun game, but unplayable with the "Turn button anomaly".

It is still playable... I'd imagine the pathfinding is killing it, in part I'd say due to a large galaxy with an incredible number of starships and the AI is trying to move them all, or it is getting lost moving yours.

What worked for me was to disable "Force AI to use Max CPU" and enable "Skip Moves Left Over From Autopilot."

From there, hit the find button, it is possible there could be a few craft with outstanding turns then need to either be skipped, or moved. It was just a temporary measure for me until I could whittle down the enemy starfleet and giving the pathfinding a bit of a break.

I have this happening since first GalCiv.

The problem happens a lot less lately but still happens. My "solution" is to "save", exit game completely and then "load".

Thanks, I'll try the  "Force AI to use Max CPU" and enable "Skip Moves Left Over From Autopilot." switches and the Find button to see if it works. Just saving and reloading doesn't work because the Turn button just goes away on the first click.

I'm surprised Stardock hasn't fixed this. This is a major bug IMO and should be fixed.

Thanks again for the replies guys.

Actually, I just tried the things above and it didn't help. I switched the options above off and kept clicking the Find button but the Turn button never came back. Oh well...thanks for the input. I guess it's over for me on this game. I love this game but can't deal with this.

Hit the find button, then move any ships that have left over movement points. Also, after disabling those options, restart the game and reload, possibly from an earlier autosave if possible.

What sort of map is it, ie: gigantic, immense etc. Do you expect there to be a lot of starships present?

Ya I just had that problem. You got 2 choices, A click on one of your ships and move them, try a few and it should fix the problem. B Save and reload. But with save and reload I think the problem comes back still...

I hit find and move the ship and that always fixed the problem for me. This is the way to go if you ask me.

This has been a problem for a long time, but with the most recent patch, it is noticeably worse.  It used to be waiting a long time (getting a cup of coffee, etc) would give it time to catch up, and the moving the ships around or hitting the 'find' button would jar things loose...

Now, the button just disappears.  Saving and reloading, for me, has brought the turn button back, but now it is inoperable/just doesnt work.  WTF?

Whenever it happened to me (not very often) it was just a ship that was somehow "stuck".

So all you have to do is find the ship (most of the time it was on screen) and move it and the turn button should be back and working.

Also try simply hitting the "Find"-button as suggested to find the ship.
