New Patch Broke Connectivity For Me
Before this latest patch, I could usually connect to a Pantheon game within 5 minutes. Now I cannot connect at all. I've spent 2 hours trying. I've given up. Is there anyone else having the same problem?

Yeah, I even made a joke thread about it.
Yeah, since the new patch I keep getting stuck with it going back and forth between 'Trying to find a suitable match' and 'A match has been found and is attempting to connect' messages.
Whereas before it sometimes took a couple tries to get a game with no one stuck trying to connect, it would go pretty fast.
ah yes the new patch.....i was looking forword to it but now i get this funny error message "the serial number you entert is not currently a active registration" ....LUCKY ME i got my refund just in time so that i could avoid another...

I just played a game after the new patch. It started well. Near the end it froze, I thought a player had dropped. It hard restarted my PC. Is it just me, Or is this game really hard on the graphic`s card. I have a 8800gt. The fan runs at full tilt while playing this and for awhile after. I`m going to do a test later with Supcom and see what the temp is during a big battle and compare the 2. The card doesn`t run like this during Crysis. I think it may be a driver issue.
That really has nothing to do with the patch and more to do with the game seperating players more by region to get faster ping times.
We're kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place there. We're trying to improve your connections to other players in match making but it shrinks the pool of players.
What do you guys think is the best route?
Ouch thats not a good fix. Seems weird the patch would have caused that though.
It never happened before while playing DG. For the most part I was able to play DG MP from release. Sometime`s I entered the game as the wrong DG, Or had pantheon games and stats not show correctly.
I think you guy`s are going in the right direction. I think better connections is the way to go. The DG community will continue to grow which will provide a larger playerbase to work with.
I dont want to sound like I am bitching but whatever has changed (patch or not) has made connecting to the game impossible for me.
I have followed Monk's port forwarding guide. I have set an static IP address. I have done everything that I know how to do to play this game.
Yesterday I was able to play three games.
Today about an hour and a half of trying to connect I have been kicked from 10 games on the connection screen.
This just isn't working...
What else can we say?

Makes sense. Though the few times it does finally start setting up a game, I'm getting a lot more with people who can't connect to everyone then before. Was maybe 2/10 times for me, now it's about 9/10 times 1-2 people can't connect to everyone.
We'll see what happens when that next big fix comes in.
Where you playing Oak and were you placing a flag. I have crashed to desktop twice now no messages. I think it has something to do with collisions of flag and units or structures near me.
I was using the torch bearer. I was trying to back to go back to the citadel to regen health. Crash. There was an oak player on the other team though.
This is not your issue then. I know it was a long shot.
I don't know how it affects multiplayer I have only seen it happen in single player, and I don't play Oak much in multiplayer only 2 times. But since its placing a flag I would assume it would be in both sp and mp, but it should not affect other players just the player placing the flag I would suspect.
It would help if it would auto retry so i don't have to keep clicking cancel and retry whenver it fails.
A week later and the game is still unplayable. I dont know what you need to do but i imagine you should have done it before releasing the game.

if you srsly want to walk the p2p line:
Make it so that people won't have to forwardport's (like DoW2)
Make it so that you can select in pantheon (only EU only Asia only USA players)
Make it so that you can see how big the ping is to someone in the custom game lobby, can't be so hard so just "ping IP XY"
Make filter option for the custom game lobby : EU only ping under >100 map only, stuff like that
Make something that detects laggers and if they have a low upload speed get's them behind a proxy so that they only upload to the proxy and the proxy is streaming is informaiton to everyone els (people with 5kp upload cna play with 9 players)

don't bloody do that. Auto seperation has never worked for anyone, and will never do. All it does is cause problems.
Start searching in the neighbourhood for 1 minute; then tell that the search is broadend the next minute; then accept all
Why wittle down the ability to find more players to play games with (limiting to region??). P2P is an awesome technology. I can sustain 1mb connections with ppl all over the world using p2p with no problems I live in Texas and I connect to ppl in japan, germany, sweden, france, south america, canada, ect.. You need to fix your connection routines... Or you are using a horrible toolkit...
I guess no one has said this yet so, my main concern is if we start connecting ppl by region then your ladder stats are never going to be a true representation of the skill of the community. Just one example very basic one, it actually gets alot more messed up if you think more into this, say top ranked player is in US and say the 2nd ranked player is in Europe if you start connecting by region then they will never have a chance to play against each other or tegether on the same team. Now think into this alot more into this than just 2 ppl but 100's of thousands of ppl and your ladder will never represent the true skill of the community only the skill of that region versus the skill of another region but then the stats are only based on player not on region.
Besides the fact that this games playerbase is not large enough to be divided like that and still retain a large enough pool at all hours.
