Unclean Beast wth!?

Ok, I can pretty much own with all other Demigods, except for Unclean Beast. While others say he is 'teh uber', all I can say is he is 'teh sux0rz'.

When I'm hit, playing the Unclean, it seems he takes a whopping loss in HP. His attacks are fairly weak as well. Even with all the speed skills, enemies still can run away from me it seems.

Now, I have tried pretty much all specs with this Demigod... I have tried various equipment setups, Armor, HP, HP Regen, Attack Speed, +Crit Hits, etc. etc.... nothing seems to work. I get out there, I don't do enough damage, and he is dead in two seconds.

So what am I missing? Is there a particular build or spec? It annoys me to hear everyone saying this character is good... cause it seems this is the only one I die with constantly. ;-/

Venom Spit, activate ooze, foul grasp, melee the dude down.

If you're going the bestial wrath route:

Furious Blade (favor)

Mage Slayer (8000g)

Assassain's Boots (1750)

Gloves I forget the name off (it's the very bottom, about 6750g)

If you're scoring kills, and you're filthy rich - get the unmaker (unmaker + furious blade = rampage) or you can get the all-father ring.

theres a couple builds i like to use, but your most typical build is acid spit, bestial wrath, the atk speed mvmnt speed passive, along with foul grasp. usually getting atk speed and atk dmg, hp per sec and armor, and mid to late game item i get a mage slayer for the atk power and life steal

I like to think of unclean beast as a pure offensive machine.  He can definately deal the damage, but he is very vunerably to taking in damage.  If you can damage him a decent amount before getting close to you, your chances of surviving skyrocket.  Regulus and Torch Bearer seem to be the onces that are most vunerable, purely by the fact they aren't made for taking such huge hits.
Armor won't do anything to the Unclean Beasts abilities, but will hinder his normal ttack.  Your not going to out run an unclean beast in most situations unless you have the 6k boots and it triggered.  It is always a good idea to be carrying a potion (once that can be used fairly quickly) the 250 gold is well worth the 30 second death penalty.

Yeah, he's a force to be reckoned with.

Also, although Sedna appears weak, she's not :)

Sedna is kind of like a better UB in a lot of ways. :x

UB is very, very good, once you learn how to play him. I suggest doing a tournament on hard/nightmare and seeing what strat works for you.

I started out with Rook, then switched to UB and haven't had a desire to switch to anything else yet - it's that good.

That's why I try to avoid UB and erebus, they're just too easy to own with. No one seems to understand how they work.

do not learn strats by playing against ai.

and the unclean beast is balanced, you just need to learn how to play him. hes faster than all other demigods, excluding lord erebus (vampire lord dont know what bought on that name change), so you should be able to take fleeing demigods down easier than others without the need for equips. he is also (meant to be) the melee dps in the game, i wouldnt go as far to say hes fragile, but he needs to get in close range so he can show what his claws are made of.

i dont play ub much only really played him during beta 2 (300%+ damage skill with uber artifact items he ended up dealing like >5k damage lol)

but i know if im playing tb and i have boots of speed and swift anklet i can take down ub's fairly easy unless they have warpstone or +speed items

I can't stand the rook anymore...I just have no desire to play as him lol. Maybe I'll change it up once in a while.  But when those 2 free Demigods come out, Rook's probably never going to be played again.

And I love Oak too haha...he's sexy (no homo)!

im not a great beast player but decent my advice is simple:

max spit (spit as fast as possible) and passive run speed skill, 1 lvl in post mortem at lvl5, 1 skill in grasp fast as possible lvl4 or 6 i think, damage boost skil/oze are useful i generally wait until mid game to get those but thats just me.

bost damage/run speed maybe little hp, carry tele scrolls/potions (low lvl). heart of life/mage slayer can be nice items when you gotten kills. i usally start buying scaled helm and 1 hp pot 1 tele scroll. depending on enemie team/map rest of items differ but sooner or later you want mage slayer. goal is extreme short term burst damage high/run speed/slow down enemie.

tactic: kill demigods! if oponent dont seem to be killable spit run away try a diffrent demigod wait until a other demigod weakend a demigod tele over and finish him, beast is amoung the best finishers with its fast run speed and damage slowdown/hold. running away is your friend. late in life they usually very powerful simply becuse they have lot of gold + good skills. if you dont get kills at start team up dont run around alone.

Venom Spit -- Hit and Run build

Venom spit IMO is key to a strong UB (Unclean Beast) build.

  • Start off with just Venom Spit.
  • Early game be sure to put some points in the Health Symbol as it increases armor, health regen, weapon damage, mana regen and gives you more health.  IMO it's very worth while.
  • Put points in Speed and attack speed increase.
  • Get Post Mordem as soon as you can, as it helps you kill creeps with ease (and gain more exp).
  • Pick up Grasp at some point (lvl 6 maybe?).
  • Keep increasing Venom spit, it is your primary attack

Main tactic is run in and spit, only engage in melee if it's just you Vs 1 other demigod and the battle looks to be in your favor (or if you have many levels on them).  If you get to half life and it's not looking good RUN.  In fact you should just spit and run sooner.  It's all about dancing and spitting with this build.

If they're getting low and running, you spit on them.

Always keep an look out for potion or teleport scroll use, as you can counter it with the grasp move.  It's really the only thing the grasp move is good for imo as it cost too much mana and gains too little life to be good for much else (if you want lots of life drain, play Erebus).

The combination of multiple spits on someone along with your speed and grasp to cancel moves makes you very very deadly.  It can be very hard to get away from you (alive).

You mostly want movement increasing gear.  I find the item in the ring catagory that lets you heal 3000 health and 3000 mana over time as long as you're not getting attacked to be very good for this build.  You just run away and usually you're so fast people don't chase you.  Stop use this, then head back into combat!  Of course this item costs around $5000.

If you can save for the boots that give you a 15% speed increase and when hit give you a chance for 50% speed increase can make it so you can run away from any fight.  They're pricey at 6000+ gold.

Early game, I go with boots of speed.  Mid game it can help to get something that increases your mana regen. Also weapon damage increases are also very good.  Overall you need speed, weapon damage, mana regen, and a little armor.

This is pretty close to what I play with great success.  If you're going to go this route make sure to invest the measley 450 fps into the anklet that gives +15% speed and get the 1K Gold boots that add 10% to speed right off the bat.  You'll be able to harrass any dgs with a venom spit.

Once you get a Heart of Life, you become a very, very, very, very scary force when dancing around flags.
