Demigod Question

So my friend bought the game today and she doesn't know that much about computer games.  She didn't notice that the case had been sliced open.  All the contents were still inside the case (booklet, cd etc.)  I can only assume that whoever sliced the case open did it to steal the CD-key.

However today she logged on to impulse and every thing worked fine.  Whoever stole the key (assuming someone stole it) didn't log in to impulse before she did... I guess...

Should we be worried?

One of my friends says that someone could recover her account information using the cd-key, is this the case?  Is there any chance of her account being compromised as a result of this?

Did she buy it from gamestop?  Gamestop tends to give you open games.

No, you should not be worried.  They won't be able to use the cdkey and access her information.   You are all set.

She did get it at gamestop, actually...

Are you telling me that Gamestop actually opens up PC games?  Why the hell would they do that?

To help prevent theft by putting the manuals/discs behind the counter, and only have empty cases on the shelf.

Pretty common practice over here.

Yep.  Standard practice at Gamestop.

It's one reason most department stores tend to be much better avenues for PC game purchases.

Especially these days. Sad, really.
