Further issues with multiplayer

Just like most other people here, I am also experiencing major issues with the multiplay aspect of Demigod.

Here is a summary of my issues:

  • The custom games list takes a long time to display with no notification that it's doing anything. This is likely to get worse, and already causes the software to come up as 'unresponsive' by windows.
  • Nearly all games I attempt to join result in 'Attempt to join game failed' error message.
  • Once I do actually get to join a game, I am occasionally presented with a 'NAT Facilitator' error message.
  • If I join a game, and do not get a 'NAT Facilitator' message, I can usually connect to all the players in the lobby, however if many people are joining at the same time the system gets confused.
  • I only occasionally get to the lobby after all these issues.
  • After getting into a lobby, only occasionally is the game filled and started. I have played 3 games online, totally maybe 30 minutes of gameplay. I have been waiting patiently for many hours.
  • The installation of the update patch did nothing to resolve any of these issues.

I am not looking for suggestions on what I should do to solve my problems, as they are not problems with my connection. My ports are configured correctly, and when I actually get into a game it's great. The issues are with the pre-game.

I will give it a few days to see if the developers can get their act together, if not I'll get a refund.

There are better things to do in life than being frustrated by these experiences. Thanks for your time, this is the last you'll hear from me regarding this issue until either I ask for a refund, or report these issues solved.

I have to agree with you. I want to give this game a chance. Most of the game is enjoyable. Soon as you hit Multiplayer, good experiences start going out the window. I hate it. I've sat and waited forever just to get into Skirmishes or Pantheon. It simply takes forever. I don't enjoy staring at screen wondering what the hell is going on. For a game that was just released, these issues should have been resolved before hand. I won't be playing until this is fixed.

I agree, a silly game is not really a basis for good wrath of god type of frustration and rage.

Yet, I would politely suggest you take a pinch of salt andthen step back to mortal plane. I hope you do, heh... the thing is that games nowdays are usually bugfeasts to hell and back. Im... older, thus when I was young games were really small in size in code. As you get these bubblegum code like nowdays that are in size thousand to ten thousand larger than back in the past by Murphys law and law of entropy something will give.

Thus games are pretty bugsy nowdays at launch, if you like the game just put it on a shelf. A polite suggestion, wait a monrth or two and try it again, it usually takes time for code to be fixed and in games like letsay Dawn of War II it certainly took month to even get a first somewhat sensible patches out. The work related to fixing bugs is pretty timeconsuming and large so its not really something fixed overnight. For a competent results you need time and effort, not quick patches that often can cause even more bugs than the orginal mess.

I hope you good day and less wrinkles on your brow, but unfortunately this is how things are nowdays.
