New version of AltDesk 1.9 has just been released!
New version is a huge leap forward in every way and brings many awesome features, such as:

  • Switching desktops is now easier than ever, jump from one virtual desktop
      to another just slightly moving the mouse.
  • New AltDesk perfectly supports 64 bit operating systems now. Give it a go on Vista 64! experience.
  • Context Menu Icons for better user.
  • Memory usage has been additionally optimized, AltDesk now runs even smoother and faster than before.
  • Added full list of current desktop open tasks on middle-mouse click.
  • Added support for different sets of icons for each desktop (under Aston 2).
  • Fixed bug: in displaying different sets of icons in Windows Vista.

I've used aldesk a few times over the years.  Useful and good looking.  I'll have to take it for a spin.
