feadhel,

Thanks for the info, that did the trick!! I entered the number from the CD case, and the next refresh showed all of the updates.

also - you may try to change to Atlanta server if you are on California - sometimes california doesnt see new patches (at least it was this way few days ago)

Brad,

I still show v1.01.029 and not v1.02 (or any sort) and I turned off show alpha/beta builds and refreshed application data (there is no mere refresh data) several damn times and no luck. I abhor this updating system a lot.

Feadhel,

Thank you, your's was the only info that mended that damn picky (and odd) updating system. How odd to have to r-click, edit account and enter my serial # all over again with each friggin' update. Tedious and cumbersome. >:(

Kavok, yes, it's very easy to do that:

Play at Intelligent :)

Really, from what Frogboy and co said the only differenct between Intelligent and Incredible is the tax bonus. If you can beat Intelligent consistently, you have to wait for AI patches that make it harder, or else try new game condition (start a good civ in an all-evil universe :)

I just want to say I have never seen anything approaching the level of support Brad and company give, it is truly amazing, stunning. As I play I'm building a list of suggestions to post but every couple days I get to cross off items because Brad is already fixing them. It's like telepathy...

AH, you have to update drengin.net with your serial number aswell, and NOW i can see the updates properly. Thanks!

BTW: This is incredibly stupid as who would have thought to right click in that spot?

I, too, cannot seem to update through stardock. I have tried it both with the view alphas/betas box checked and unchecked. I have the bonus pack installed.

Errr...anybody should have said that you HAVE to register GalCiv with your Stardock account before you could see the update! :d
Reply #37 Top
Well i could see the 1.01a update (without registering) just fine, but once i applied the bonus pack i could see no more new updates.
The funny thing is some of us *had* registered, but when we pulled down the bonus pack, the registration was cleared.. I don't think anyone over at Stardock knows yet why that happens to some. It's downright spooky!

Tools -> Register Products... -> Drengin.net Tab -> Application Drop Down Box change to : Galactic Civilizations

There was a bug in the standalone bonuspak update that was removing your serial from the registry. Add it back with Tools / Register Products / Drengin.net tab and SDC will be happy again.

Does anyone else notice the AIs trade much less with the player since this update? I had a game saved, I updated, and the AIs are valuing my tech much less than before.

I've got a retail installation with the bonus pack installed. I'm only showing version 1.01 installed with no option to upgrade or update to the newer 1.02. I've tried refreshing the data and have turned show alpha / beta code off and on with no effect. I'd love to get the latest fixes.

A quick question, is the CD Key on the retail CD case the same thing as the product serial number? I've keyed that in already at my first installation, but Stardock Central doesn't seem to have my serial number info listed when I check. (Perhaps that need to be redone before any additional updates can be done)

My biggest bug griefs so far are sudden but infrequent crashs to the desktop. My resulting autosave data seems to be corrupted and only a reload from a manual save game will restore things properly. :sniff!:
This crash does *not* seem to be related to cutscenes or any other event that I can see so far.

Ok, evidently I did have to plug in my CD Key / serial number for registration in yet again here at Stardock Central before it would let me see the latest patches. Here's hoping that the crashing problem will diminish or dissapear!
