Unable to play Pantheon

Any other users find it difficult to play Pantheon? I often end up with a blank message window without anything happening and just 'cancel' in it.

I do sometimes get the 'connection info' window (at that point any message in the normal 'status windows' goes blank), but often there is one person who 'fails' to connect to some of us and then nothing else happens - this isn't very informative as to what is happening at that moment in time and the problem seemingly never resolves.

It would be interesting/helpful to understand, in the scenario where one or two players fail to complete their connections, what is Demigod expected/trying to do in that scenario?

Same problem here. Though port forwarding (less likely) and waiting a bit longer after the box went blank (more likely) managed to get me into a Pantheon game. Bottom line though, the matchmaking boxes are not nearly descriptive enough. Especially when it just suddenly stops showing anything and just has a blank box up there, which I assume it does when its found a match and is attempting to launch. I've closed that a few times thinking the game froze on me.

yeah i've gotten into 2 panthoen games in about 20 attmepts. same things i've heard form others. nice cancel empty box. a couple fools wont be able to connect and then it just hangs. best thing is once you get into a game there is no gauratees that someone doesnt have a poor connection and it lags us all. the one game i've played since the release was extremely laggy and i havent been able to get into the tournament since. no serious problems with custom games although sometimes i get a cvp error when attempting to host. but the biggest problem of all is the system crashes while attempting to connect to the pantheon. today i've gotten into one pantheon game that like i said was pure lag. since then i've gotten fatal errors 5 times. i doubt it's my brand new custom made computer, my dual gigabit lan cards, sli GTX9800s or my 4 gigs of corsair memory. i could go mess with my port forwarding, but it works sometimes so that wouldnt make sense. it seems obvious to me the matchmaking system needs alot of work as do the menus. this doesnt seem to be something we players can fix.

You just need a lot of patience... I play in windowed mode and surf the net while waiting for a game to come together... Seriously though... the p2p thing was a good idea in theory... but I tihnk people would have put up with host advantage and bits of lage in favour of the current setup which seems to get in the way of ven getting a game to come together...

It just seems to me that the multyplayer isn't dumbfire enough for the general masses... unfortunately thought the game is awesome, intensely awesome actually.  It's goign to collapse and everyone will migrate back to dota or over to LoL... unless something happens to change the way things are.

Unfortunately this doesn't really help my particular issue as I'm just plumbing straight into my cable modem so none of this should be an issue. When attempting to play a game the connection failures are not on my part, but one or two others. At present, the game hangs when this occurs so I can't say this is a good customer experience.

What I was hoping for was to glean an understanding of what Demigod is trying to do when that failure happens - what is waiting for? Is there a log I can provide you with?

I can't imagine this problem wasn't there in beta, and if it was, why did the game launch with this bug? I love the game, but this has to be the worst multiplayer experience I've had from day 1. It's a real shame. Regardless, I'll definitely stick with it once it's patched to improve the issue.

I appreciate there's multiple things that can go wrong, but the error messaging and information provided to the end user now is just too flakey to be of use as it is today.

The key issue for me is it seem that Demigod is currently unable to handle the scenario when a user is for whatever reason failing to get the right connectivity to play in a game. It's not good that it just hangs for every user (even those with good connections) when this happens. This needs to be more seamless.

HaunterV, I don't think it's fair to call infer that people are 'dumb' because they don't enjoy what is currently a bad customer experience.

I'm also experiencing that exact same issue. I just can't connect to a game online. Even the Pantheon, which was never a problem until the last patch.

Stardock, not to push you around but the multiplayer isn't working... please help us out here.

On a side note, the game runs MUCH better since the Beta. Whatever it is you did after Beta 3E really upped my Framerate. THANK YOU!!

I get into the game and then in the first second of the game my network connection drops and I get a "A player has left the game" message and all the PCs get taken over my AIs.  I have to reboot before I can get back on the network.  What bugs the hell out of me is I didn't have connection problems in the Beta.

Unfortunately, all the port forwarding and workarounds and plugging right into the raw 'net on your end doesn't necessarily mean that the people on the other end are doing the same.  The patches coming out should help with this, and eventually give the "host" the option to kick problem players.
