Game is unable to start following update this afternoon

Unable to create D3D

from Stardock Forums

The game updated this afternoon when I logged into Impulse.

However when I try to run the game I get the Demigod screen flash up and then it goes back to the desktop with an error message telling me that it is unable to create D3D, please update the graphic drivers.

I am running Vista 32bit on an XFX Geforce GTX260 Black edition with the 182.50 graphic drivers (the latest). It ran fine last night before the update.

Can anyone help or do I need to reinstall Demigod?

I have verified the installation and it tells me that everything is fine.

track down the file 'game.prefs', and make it migrate to the recycle bin.

 

this often happened in SupCom, so it's quite possible it'll happen in DG too.
