Just Purchased Demigod...

...I spent an hour or two reading previews, watching videos, reading beta tester thoughts and have come to the conclusion this game is gonna be worth it. It may seem more like DOTA but there hasnt been a good top down rts or hack and slash game sine diablo 2. This not being exactly like that will definately fill the void with its rpg elements, and many people havent played DoTA because its a mod for a different game, but this is a stand alone.

 

I hope I am right, so far my instincts on pre orders have been spot on.

If you preordered the game like me, please share your thoughts, if not, please do also.

I have been in the beta, and I personally think it is so worth it.  Good choice.  And don't get frustrated with the loses.  It takes time and sometimes the other team is just better co-ordinated.

no sweat guy. in all honesty, this is THE first game ive pre-ordered. i always get those initial gitters on if the game will really be worth it. ive got total confidence that demigod's going to force me into many sleepless nights. if that isnt enough, well than your just way to friggen paranoid, har.

To be honest, I pre ordered this on a whim being 99% sure I would hate the game. I only pre ordered it blindly because of all the attention Stardock was getting for fighting draconian DRM.

Turns out I absolutely love the game as well as Stardock. :)

The term "RPG elements" can be deceptive, Demigod doesn't have the depth of rpg's and only few persistent elements, the cream of RPG's, at the moment.

I still encourage you to try the game, it's going to be amazing and only get better, but you might be in for a bit of a (pleasant) surprise. It's a refreshing style of gameplay, starting back with DoTA then HOSK, and I hope it becomes a genre or at least a sub-genre.

Reading all the early gamespot buyers impressions, it seems 100% of them are all satisfied.  I haven't read a post that said anything majorly negative about the game in all the forums.

good game.

most features are like dota like gameplay.

but hopefully

there will be MORE items  , More HEROES or gods, more maps,

except boring dota with 1 map .. but the game are different from each person playstyle.

game is good fun but like most games focused on multiplayer the game will last longer if u play with friends!!!

indeed it does look like its going to be fun for a while, seems quite addicting so far too bad I have work and school tomorrow (Monday) ... I feel like staying up all night playing it. I only wish it had more heros to pick from or more maps as I can see playing the same heros & maps all the time getting old after a couple of months

the best you can hope for is that more demigods will be added at a later date (which it seems like they've set the game up well for)
