No starting planet when using Map Designer

Hi have been trying this out a couple of times I create a map with about a total of 1000 planets and 4 galaxys with about a player in each galaxy and the conclusion is the same for both Entrenchment and the regular Sins:

  • - the starting plant shows sometimes on the tree and zooms on the correctly but most of the times it does not show (the starting planet-not on the tree either) when i dont see the planet ill exit from the preview game and then click on the preview button again.
  • - I have to repeat this a couple of timew when the starting planet will start correctly with the planet zoomed in correctly.

This seems to be a flaw. (im no programmer to certify that it is a bug).

I created a pdf file with the exact sequence. How do i attach a pdf file to this post. That will illustrate it better i think. I did send a mail to stephen mckay of the stardock support team.

Thanks

mathew you should have emailed support at ironcladgames.com as ironclad are the developers of sins and stardock is  the distributor

Ive already mailed them. and sent a pdf file of the exact sequence of how it happens. the only other flaw in sending that mail is my thunderbird (beta) sent it to the support guy about 15 times before i saw it and closed the client!!

the support guy suggested that i post in on this forum because i would get help from more experienced guys. so.

Thanks for the reply.

Did you put the maps into the Galaxyforge folder?

Apparently, if you are going to Sins now, and you created the maps, you have to put them into the GalaxyForge folder for them to work

mooster the folder for the map designer maps is ironclad\sins\MapDesigner not the galaxyforge folder which is for galaxy forge maps and map designer automatically puts the map designer maps into the correct folder

There's no big deal here. It is annoying, yes, but it's not that bad.

When the preview loads, hold the right mouse button and pan the view around until you see a planet (they are there, trust me).
Double click it and now you can navigate as usual.
