Generals and how do you beat a good Regulus

Is it really worth playing as a General?  So far I havnt seen a real good reason.  Assassins can usually take down all the mobs almost instantly, plus they can kill Generals pretty easily.  So whats the use of playing a General?

And what are some tips against fighting a good Regulus?  I find it nearly impossible.

You can use Rook and warpstone right next to regulus.  Then boulder roll and hammer slam which usually kills Regulus or any other demigod.

Regulus is usually fairly light health and armor build.  A decent UB can take him easy.  Hit him and slow him, foul grasp and venom spit also work.  Blitz's idea is great, or a TB shatter works quick.  Reg is far from unstoppable.

Shatter is a mechaninc linked to Torchbearers deep freeze, it makes it so that if your target got any ice debuffs on him when you use deep freeze on him, he takes extra damage for each of those debuffs.

Try casting rain of ice on an enemy and then using deep freeze, at highest rank the shatter deals like 400dmg per debuff on the target.
