[Head's up] Demigod Beta Access Ends next week

In preparation for the release, the beta version of Demigod will cease to work around April 7th.  So there will be about 7 days of no availability. :)

Don't worry, the break is just Stardock's way of giving all the Demigod gamers time to shower, shave and restock on mountain dew/cheetos before April 14th.

What happened with Beta 3F with the tournament and whatnot? :(

But 10 or so days until I can play the proper Singleplayer sounds good to me. :)

Good luck with release, Stardock and GPG

We have beta 3F now up.  But on Thursday, everything's going to get zapped. It'll say there's a new version (or worse, it'll just be deactivated).

We're going to try to work things out so that beta testers get the game a day early for release (there are some legal issues we have to sort through with the retailers but we want to give the beta people some added benefit for all their help).

You guys just get better and frickin better.

If only other devs/pubs could take a few hints from you guys.

Now if you could just put up that digital --> retail upgrade. :D

Day early - that would be awesome! Thanks very much :) As long as the game is balanced and gets regular updates, ill be more than happy!

An early access is a nice addition indeed. Too bad it's out after Easter though, gonna have less time to play.

I admit I buy the stardock games only because of what the CEO said about the piracy issues(that and i'm so tired of EA putting out hyped games that are far from finished).  The only problem I have with the stardock games is that they are constantly moving out of sync anymore.  Playing sins of a solar empire with friends I have to constantly check with others to see if we're in sync.  Since the last 2 patches this has been happening with demigod as well.  By far this is the most annoying factor to the stardock games.  I join friends via hamachi and it seems to cure the problem, play normally and it seems to get out of sync within the first 30 minutes. We then have to send the sav files to each over over xfire to get back in sync for the next 30 minutes.

Prior to release make sure this is fixed or I will be forced to stop purchasing games from your company, don't be another EA.

Dakiny, please try to understand something very basic:  Stardock is the producer, GPG / IC are developers.  Going out of sync is a developer problem with the game code; adding DRM is a producer decision.

Also, IC is working hard on the sync issues -- if you are still getting the consistently, contact them!  They really want to hear from you!

Ive had no sync problems recently in Demigod. Maybe on or two, but no more than I get in other games too.

Ron how do I contact IC?  I ran into the sync issue just this afternoon during a game, I was done and we won, but a player with me still had 3000 points left in the same game.  Stopped playing Sins because of this problem.

I would say that stardoc is still at least partially at fault for this, as they do release the game with these problems.  I'm not blaming them per se but their name is on the game as well as Gas Powered.

They really hate sync bugs.

This would be great, thanks.

stupid legal issues with retailers *shakes fist*

I know there is trouble when 1 store is allowed to release before others.  but it seems strange that the publishers would have any trouble with it.  I mean there used to be specials where a particular retail would be allowed to sell a title before others all the time (though the most recent one was blockbuster renting out starfox armada before anybody could sell it)

I blame the consumer bill-o-rights.   Which I generally support, so I can't complaign that much.

Good question Zerofaith. Would be interesting to know how much Demigod has already sold?
