Okay, here's what you do for this game: You have to "ban" the person who posted above you for an outrageous, silly, or funny reason. Got it?

banned for you're Greek. I could have done much worse.

Hey, I was going to ask something I just thought about. When American films, games, or shows are shown over there, do they do any dubbing or do most people know English and they just let it be?

If they do dub, do they do it in Greek with a Greek accent or Greek with an American accent? I've seen films dubbed in Spanish, but they use a Mexican accent (guess the country I found the film in). I found that weird since we have actors speak English, but we'll most often have them try to fake another accent for character's sake.

Banned for actually having an ok question. but i am gonna guess morphs answer

What the..... :(O

What do you think Greek people are? Some kind of uneducated gipsy-like people? :annoyed:

If you must know, most Greeks speak at least some English, but with a terrible accent, and watch A LOT of american movies.

Now, to answer your question, No we dont dub any foreign movies, or shows or whatever else. 90% of foreign stuff projected on TV has Greek subtitles, since we CAN read >_> (yes I am being kind of ironic)

1 Greek TV channel used to dub some American TV series and shows, but they just dropped it, because everyone finds it kinda lame. Now they use subtitles like the rest of our channels, and they are doing better in numbers as a result of that. Consider that TV channer the 2% of the dubbed TV shows, movies and series.

The other ~8% (dubbed), are movies like Shrek, Over the Hedge, Ice Age, etc. Kids animated movies, are usually dubbed in Greek, for obvious reasons (little children arent great at reading).

Simple answer: No.

but yes sadly, most don't even bother

if you don't speak english you aren't worth speaking to in the minds of some

banned for he has a point.

And I wasn't guessing that Greeks never used subtitles, but there are many films in the US that are consistently dubbed, such as anime. The reason I was asking was because (taking anime as an example) when dubbed in English, they attempt to give the character an accent appropriate to their in-story origin. I have seen the same films dubbed in Spanish, but (but they can probably read too) with Hispanic accents rather than those appropriate to the characters.

Also, some films come with the option of subtitles or dubbing or neither, such as when Le Pact de Loupe made it big in America, although in the theater they just showed the subtitled version.

So, I think it was a legitimate question. Next time you ask about an American rifle, I could give you hell... but then you're not in America, so I assume it's fair game.

As for how much worse can I do? Have you ever heard those boy-lover jokes about Greeks?
