Bootskin Vista Install error

When installing Bootskin Vista on a vista 64 bit machine I get an error during install via impulse. When the install gets to the point od adding registry keys it errors out with a pop-up saying there was a problem during install please try to install again. Anyone run across this issue before or have any suggestions. I have object desktop ultimate and would like to be able to create a few bootskins. Thanks

I got the same error message when I installed Bootskin Vista, but when I clicked on the RUN button it worked fine. I can create and apply bootskins. I also get this error whenever I do an update from within Impulse, but the programs seem to run with no prblems.

Thanks Kolban,

at least I know I wasn't the only one having this issue. Unfortunatly while the program will run it will not let me create any bootskins.

Helidoc65,it may be a security app that is borking the install. They often prevent the required keys from being written into the  registry. You may want to try uninstalling BootSkin Vista, then run a clean-up program like CCleaner, reboot, then temporarily disable your AV/security apps while reinstalling.

I have the same problem.  I also have Bootskin Pro Installed or it said available.  don't know which got installed first.  but couldn't uninstall the free one or update it untill reboot.  I then clicked on Bootskin Pro and install and now i just have Bootskin.  No "Pro" or "Vista Free"

From within Impulse:

-Click the Impulse Logo in the upper left
-Choose 'Preferences...'
-Click the 'Reset Data' button
-Close impulse and relaunch it. You may notice a long update time, which is normal as it is rebuilding the deleted info.

If this does not resolve the issue, I would suggest uninstalling Impulse, rebooting your PC, and then reinstalling from the latest installer build here:

I got it to work by clicking on "manage application" then "registration".  A window will pop up that shows your registration code.  Hit "copy serial to clipboard" and then "close".  Go back to "run" and hit the text to copy from clipboard (will add serial number) and type in your email address.  Error messages popped up but Bootskin worked perfect.  I was able to create a bootskin too.
