Deploying Icon Packages inside the DesktopX environment

How do I create a shortcut which will change with the Icon Package?

Are there specific files I can point to with a shortcut in Desktop X which will change the icon displayed whenever the icon package is changed with Icon Packager?  I have seen that certain programs have a current theme folder which uses the same file name for each variable so that it can be changed at anytime.  I cannot however see anything like this in Icon Packager.  Does anyone know how to deploy icon packages within the DesktopX environment.  I like this tool but I can't use it since I live in a .desktop!  It seems to me that there would be a shell address for the standard windows start menu icons but I don't know these and I wonder if they would work anyway.

As for the Icon Packages it may be doable but, there are a number of issues with doing it in regards to Stardock's permission and then creator of the icon packages. For many of the shell icons you can read the icon value from the registry and update the icon based on that. I believe RomanDA did a Tutorial on reading/writing to the registry a while back which should get you started. As for the specific shell icons a good place for that information is VirtualPlastic.
