ObjectDock makes all video players lag

Whenever I use wmp or quicktime its ok if the video size is small, but if I enlarge it any it lags the hell out of the video and the computer.

I know it is objectdock because everything works fine when I close it.

Are you running any docklets that could be taking away from the CPU? like possibly a CPU meter or something?

Sounds like your video drivers need updating.  Have they been?

i agree, most likely it's your video drivers because i use objectdock plus and can watch full screen video with quicktime, windows media player, winamp and powerDVD with no lag, jerkiness or slowdown. It could also be like HG said, a docklet causing the problem. Hope you get it sorted out :)

nope, everything, all drivers, are up to date. I tried the troubleshooting options but they made no difference. the only thing that fixed it was to close objectdock

I've seen this on XP before (YEARS ago), but never on Vista.  Are you on XP?  If so, I will try and remember what the scoop is...

I've had this problem with Windowblinds, thus the reason I have stopped using the program for the past few months now. Everytime I watch any video in Media Player with Windowblinds on everything becomes really choppy in the video. I've checked videos on all my machines and it is clearly an issue with Windowblinds + Media Player. I too have updated all my video drivers but nothing fixes this issue, well if I watch a video in another player then it is fine. But Windowblinds + Media Player simply don't get along, I need to find a new player then I can go back to the blinds.

Matt, what graphics card are you running?

i dont see why it would have anything to do with the gfx card though

Different cards have different hardware acceleration capabilities.  Stardock tech support will ask this as well.

However, since it can presumably run Vista Aero, it really should have no problems doing what ObjectDock asks of it.  :)
