Impulse woes - installing in C: drive and patching

Hi mods,

I've got Sins andEntrenchment installed in my C:\Program Files\Stardock Games (etc) directory as that's the only place that Impulse can install the game.

The problem I have is my C: drive is running out of space... and I really need to move the game to my G: drive which has lots of space.

I thought about uninstalling and re-installing (download another 1.5Gb *sigh*) but I can't change the destination directory. Any ideas?

Also patching... is there any reason why I have to install Impulse to get patches? If every game developer makes me do this I'm going to have several dozen programs installed on my PC just to get updates. Can't I just get a patch that overwrites my existing files like most other games do?

I also develop mods, so I wanted to have a directory for v1.15/1.01 to support a mod I've written, as well as have a different directory where I could work on getting my mod running in v1.16/1.02

Love the game.. just really painful approach to installation and patching :( :( :(

You can change where impulse installs things at in the Folders section of the preferences (click the orb button at top left). You can move it manually post install yourself, you'll just need to tweak the locations in the registry so Impulse can still know where it's at. If you need help with the technical details of doing that, support@stardock.com can assist.

Thanks a lot Kryo... that sorted out my space problem nicely. Actually, I moved the directory across to my G: drive, then using the orb I changed the directory to my new preferred G:\Sins\ root directory.... I had to re-install but it instantly detected my existing install and didn't need to download everything.

As for patching... I suppose if the game is good enough you'll tolerate installer apps, but I do hope Stardock re-thinks this.
