Demigod Demo Release Date?

Nothing official has been announced so far.  Probably after release.

3-6 months after release when they finally fix the network code.

Wait a minute.. AFTER the release?  Arent demos supposed to be BEFORE the release to give people a sample of the game?  Why would they make it after the release?

They do demos afterward from the final game, instead of a buggier pre-release version.

demos are after the game is released betas are before, and demos do give u a taste of the game but stardock wants to make the game good now so when u play the demo its better and the game is better.

Some do a demo before release, others do it after.

I doubt there will be a demo until serveral months after. They need to make sales after all.

They would make it after release because GPG is busy making the retail version as good as possible .

meh, well for my part I'm not buying a game I wasn't able to test. If I can't play because I have to open ports(which I can't do with my present router) or because my computer isn't good enough, what good it is to waste 50$ then. I'll wait and hope for a demo (with multiplayer) to come out, since I was looking forward to the game.

demo comes out after. The point of a demo is so people can try the game before buying it. You don't have to buy it the day it comes out, therefore the demo doesn't need to be any earlier then the release day. That way the demo can be a demo of the final product, rather then a demo that might be buggier, unbalanced or plain incomplete compared to the final product.

you probably misunderstood me, I'm not whinning about the fact that it will be later (well still it would be better before) but about the fact wether there will be one or not. If the game don't sell as much as they thought, the support for the game will wither away and if by that time no demo is out, there won't be any, that is what i'm afraid of... and opening ports

We usually release the demo about a month after release.

Opening ports will be unnecessary; IIRC, the whole point of Stardock's fancy new system is to remove port issues.

I think they do still suggest making sure some ports are open if you're having trouble.

But only as a last resort. I've 2 computers with Demigod here, both are able to play online. Which is great, in the past there was always port trouble

Yeh, I don't think Stardock is going to get the kudos it deserves with the game connectivity. Demigod is the first and only p2p game I've played. I was never able to host a Warcraft 3 game, still can't do this day, but I can play Demigod.

I can't host a warcraft game to! Quite annoying since they don't have stardocks fancy game system so when everyone who can host leaves a custom game than games over:(.
