When ever I play huge games ( 5 star, lots of planets, 9 AI's ), I usually get to the point in the game where I control half the map, 5 or 6 Ai's are left, and they don't really stand a chance against my main fleets. I'm running a max'd fleet cap, all my planets have max'd upgrades, every tech is researched, and I have over 300k cedits in the bank, and 15k+ of metal and crystal stocked up. My construction planets can build a new fleet in minutes ( 4-5 frigate factories ), and I can pay for it out of petty cash. I'm BUYING pirate raids for 20k just because I can ! 

I just feel guilty that I'm not doing something with all those resources. Early game you're desperate for 500 credits and JUST ONE more HC. Now, I'm not even bothering to build trade ports because I 'just don't need the cash'. HC's ? I have bucket fulls... My home star 'defense' fleet has 55 percherons...

So, what do I do with all this ? Barring the 'lottery' ( searching every planet for the supposedly extinct Space Ponies )... Start giving it away to people I'm going to kill anyway ? Scuttle and rebuild ships older then 30 minutes ? Re-decorate my palace every hour ?

What do you do ?

Do the same thing, but TRY TO WIN FASTER. You're clearly taking your sweet time. See if you can win, but before you manage to research everything out, and definitely do it before you get thousands and thousands of extra resources.

Stop playing the way you are.

 

When you start rolling the enemy like that, it's time to mass shipyards on your perimeter worlds and just flood them all at once from every entry.  You're only suffering a resource glut because you're still sticking to a couple fleets for your offense.  The couple fleets is for the one star, 20 planet game, not the bigger ones.  Use those expendable resources and expend them.

 

If you want to take your sweet time about it, don't complain when the resources rack up. :)

since you probably have 50+ planets, see how many novas you can build at once on full auto! this will kill your newly colonized planets on multi-star maps, but you dont really seem to care. this isn't the way to go about WINNING the game, but this isn't mp and you're not on my team, so its fun to imagine :beer:

Most of you totally missed this guy's point. He's asking what you would do with all the extra resources. He's not asking for advice on how to play so that he wins more quickly, or doesn't amass such a huge surplus. So quit flaming him already, gosh.

 

In your situation, I would tend to spam trade ports and Novaliths (since it sounds like you're playing as TEC). Also, if you're running entrenchment, see how many fully upgraded SBs you can build. I also like to "run the lottery" as you put it, searching for artifacts and other bonuses. It sounds like you've got a ton of planets by this point, so you should find at least a few artifacts.

Scuttle all of your resource structures and challange yourself to win the game with what you've amased. It will also encourage you to win faster, as if you leave your enemies alone for too long they might catch up to you.

One thing that you missed out on, is Sins has UNLIMITED resources. Harada is making it to the end of the game, buying everything out, and filling up every world 100%. There is NOTHING Harada can do after that, because in 10 more minutes he'll have to find something ELSE to spend it on. It's an endless loop, and in 2 days he'll be back to ask how he's going to spend the NEXT million resources he picked up!

The BEST solution is to spend resources as fast as you can get them. If you can't spend them fast enough, then try more aggressive, fast, and stupid strategies, and learn some new techniques along the way. Don't just sit around for 2 hours sending one giant fleetball to tag each world one at a time. That's how you get a huge excess of resources in the first place!

Also, play smaller maps. Large maps take a LONG time to win without an ally or two to double your efforts.

if he doesn't i will. Another idea is to make a fleet of 142 krosovs and 2 colonizers :dur:

or sell your resources and get 100% creds

or make 4 starbases at a star with full base bomb and have them blow each other up along with your endgame fleet :pout: (pretty please)
