Cannot install Entrenchment 4 hours wasted, need some help

Posted this in general yesterday as i could nto access thsi forum, but now i can so reposting it here:

 

So i went and bought the retail copy (boxed) of SINs because i've got a brand new machine and thought i'd save time by not having to re-download it ( i previously had bought the download copy) and i had seen the email about Entrenchments, which looked very cool.

So i installed from disc, all went fine.  version 1.05

then i followed the link from the email i had been sent and bought Entrenchments

then i installed 'Impulse'

Then Impulse said i needed an update, big one too, to take me to 1.15, so i sat there and downloaded 250mb which wasnt exactly fast at 500k sec.

Then after closing impulse and running the game i clicked on 'Update' game which reopened Impulse ( i wanted to make sure there were no further updates).  Impulse said i was installed and no further updates showed, version was 1.15.

Great!  now i clicked the link i had been sent when i purchased Entrenchment and it downloaded the following file:

Sins_Bonuspack_105_setup  (16.6MB)

i ran this and it installed fine.

i then re-ran the game and again clicked update game to check (this time) that there were no updates for Entrenchment itself.  Impulse said my current version was, once again, 1.05 !! and that i needed to redownload the 1.05 - 1.15 update.  i did this, then re-ran the bonus pack (entrenchment and same DAMN THING AGAIN!)

Ok, i deleted registry keys and uninstalled and tried again, from scratch, SAME THING AGAIN!

 

i also tried (after i had updated from 1.05 to 1.15 but BEFORE running Entrenchment), updating the game key that came with my email, same result

The instructions (...) that came with the purchase confirmation email itself were beyond rubbish:

What the hell is going on here? i am not some clueless monky with no technical knowledge and yet even i could not decipher how the hell i was supposed to get this game working
 
I am really angry that your product has wasted my entire evening and that i have wasted money repurchasing a game purtely to play an expansion that does not work.

The Entrenchment download is done through Impulse. Start it up, and go to My Games - you should see Entrenchment listed as "Available". When you have Sins 1.15, you can select Entrenchment there and click the Install button in the bottom right.

Forget the 105 bonuspack, that is just the last patch available without Impulse. When you have 1.15 Sins is up to date, and no other updates or installs are required.

I've asked the appropriate people to remove that 1.05 link from the Sins email, it shouldn't be there anymore and only serves to add confusion. That seems to be the only issue you're running into here, really (just ignore 1.05 and instead simply update to 1.15 and install Entrenchment).

As I read it, you bought the game , updated to 1.15 , bought entrenchment, downgraded to 1.05 , and so SINS ENTRENCHMENT would not run. Blame Iron Clad for not making a safety check that rejects older patching attempts.

All you need to do is re-install 1.15 update and  then maybe Entrenchment again. Sorry you got the run around.
