BootSkin Vista (free) issue

Sorry, I posted this already in the General category of the forums, but I couldn't figure out how to delete or re-categorize it so I'm just re-posting it to the appropriate category.

I downloaded the free version of BootSkin Vista v1.02.006 made available to me this morning by Impulse.  So far, no good.  When I restart my computer I get the hibernation / aurora bootscreen, not the one that I wanted.  This happens with the included skins and ones I've downloaded from WinCustomize.com.  I have the English language version of Windows Vista Ultimate SP1, and I have every setting I can find under Regional and Language options set to English and United States.  Now - when I installed BootSkin Vista (free), I got an icon under "My Desktop" in Impulse for the free version, and another icon for the paid version; the free version shows up to date and the paid version shows an update available.  When I try to update the paid version, it says my registration is invalid and gives me the option to edit my registrations.  I don't know if that was intentional or not.  So is there anything I can do?  I've gone through other threads I could find on the region/locale problems with BootSkin Pro, and no fix that I have tried has yet helped.

The only thing I can suggest is uninstall BS Pro,run CCleaner or similar, reboot, then disable any AV/Security apps temporarily and redownload it. Good Luck.

greatbigdragon, please make sure that you are logging into Impulse with the same account that OD is registered under.  If you are using the one that you logged into this site with, then it's not the right one.

New files have been pushed to Impulse that should fix the regional settings issue.

If you were having issues applying bootskins bplease update and try again.

Not sure I know why I would have more than one account, KarmaGirl...

OK well.  As for Ausvet's fix: the "no gui boot" option was not checked for me, so I'm good there... however, his suggestion to just go ahead and slam your computer jam-full of startup items by selecting "normal boot" is a bad idea.  People shouldn't be messing with msconfig anyway unless they know what they are doing (which isn't saying much, in msconfig's case.)

However, good news!  The updates have worked, and now I have bootscreen going; thank you all for your input.
