Capturing Crystal/Metal Asteroids ?

New to the game.  Have came accross asteroids (crystal/metal) which say ..invulnerable but can be captured...  How do I capture?   I haven't noticed a ship that has capture as an ability.  I have did the cultural thing that covers the sector.  Can't find any option to capture.  Help please.

Colony frigates for the TEC and Advent have the ability to capture them. Vasari use their scouts. :)
