How can I properly reinstall an old patch?

I am trying to re-install patch 1.05 for a mod im interested in but when I re-install it and play the game just crashes.

 

How can I redownload the patch and get it to actually work?

You cant downgrade to a lower patch. The only way to go from a current patch to 1.05 is to uninstall and install from a disk(not Impulse). Then apply the patch to the fresh install.

What if you want one of the impulse only patches?  I need 1.13 to properly play a mod.

I don't believe you can get to 1.13 via Impulse, it's a great shame, and it would be really good if Stardock / Ironclad maintained previous release for people wanting to use mods.

so you could try downloading that, I guess since you have a legal copy of Sins that would be ok.
