how long to get confirmation email?

  My brother finally broke down and got himself a copy of sins after liking it by trying mine at version 1.05 only.  He puts his code in and email and it tells him as usual that the confirmation email is sent.  It has been 2 hours and no email.  When he tries to re-register it tells him his account already is taken because HE MADE ONE most likely?  I thought this is this sent out by a bot or what? He has his own copy of the game,  however my CD was used to first install the game.

The CD won't make a difference - there is no DRM on the CD. He should check his spam folder in case if got filtered. Otherwise send an email to support@stardock.com to help get himself registered with Impulse.

Yea,  right now we just stomped on AI because he wants to get the hang of it a little bit.  I also got 2 other people to get the game.  One still need entranchment.  We play entranchment.  We will see if they jump online.
