Homing mines... what's the deal?
Okay, these new Advent "homing mines" things... what's the deal with them?
They don't seem especially "homing" to me. How are they supposed to be used?

They definately "home," but something has to come inside their "homing radius" to trigger them. I've used them many times. Play around with them and you'll see.
Dude their hommign in insane they seem to start homing froma further range then scouts can detect them. And while homming even thou i had flak frigs with nothing to shoot they didnt shoot the stupid things. But later i coudl easily approch my scouts and kill them no problem without having a single one fo them home. So I think their is a bug with the mines. Further testing under control situation.
Do you have to deploy them first, to get them to work?
of course there is a price for deployment.
Once you wipe out the planet the mines stop homing and you can use scouts to kill them.... or maybe once you kill the unit that created them, something like that...
I play as advent, and i was just wondering if there is a limit in the creation of mines per hangar (like fighters), or will it continuously create these as long as i have credits? You see, i tried making some mine units and put their deployment on autocast. I thought i was just making around three but when i got back to the same planet where I made them, i was surprised to see that the grav well was "littered" with mines, and it seems mines are continuously produced/deployed as long as i have enough credit to support them. The grav well/planet looked "really dangerous" with all the mines scattered, but it left my credits very low. Before, I tried to find what's eating my credits when i'm not consciously producing any units, and found out the mines were the culprit.
If you've got mine deployment on auto-cast, I'm not sure it would continually auto-deploy the new fighter-mines that come out of the hangar. Let's assume they do though. There is a 150 mine limit on a planet's gravity well. I forgot the exact amount of mines that are deployed from a hangar. I think it's 9 or 10 with with increased squad max capacity upgrades. So you should cap out after 15 or so mine deployments. That's still quite a drain on your planets income. I don't think you should put mines on auto-cast but actively set them yourself if you get a chance. I prefer to set mines to funnel fleets into a planet's defense or set mines near the edge of the gravity well to detonate on incoming fleets.
I only builds mines when I am playing Advent; the other two factions only work when you get very close.
