Alternatives to Impulse?

Hi

I am unable to install impulse as I seem to have a problem related with Net2.  Is there other ways to download the updates without impulse?  Note that I don't have the game yet, if it may creates issues with impulse.

I got no IE7 and cant use Impulse. Would really liked to buy the new addon, but impulse isnt really a good alternative to me. Wish they would use the old stardock software again. Buying games online is hard enough, but when you need to install microsoft-software one year later to get your game again is just sad.

Cant even install the pure SOASE at the moment anymore.

No, I went through the same thing.  SoaSE does require Impulse and Impulse does require IE7 and IE7 does require Microsoft 2.0 framework.  I don't use IE for anything and only use Firefox.  Firefox does not work for Impulse.  I hope that is something that can be changed. <hint, hint> I did have to update my IE just for this. 

This link at Microsoft will allow you to update your IE to IE7.  It is a critical update, so no Microsoft verification is needed.  It just works:

The .net 2.0 framework will update when you install Impulse.

Just because you don't use IE doesn't mean you shouldn't keep it up-to-date.  It's so intergrated into Windows that it is foolish, from a security standpoint, not to keep it updated.
