Mesh error when joining Entrenchment game

Hey guys, hopefully I can get some help here.  When joining a game in Entrenchment I receive an error saying something along the lines of "cannot join game because mesh files differ than host".

Now I have uninstalled and re-installed....uninstalled, deleted the entire entrenchment folder and reinstalled and nothing has worked so far.   I was able to join a game in vanilla sins.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?  I downloaded through Impulse following what I believed to be typical procedures.

I didn't have any beta entrenchment stuff either.

Thanks for the help!

Same issue - updated Sins to latest hotfix of 1.15 then installed Entrenchment. Get a different version of mesh files error to other's who are hosting.

And I can't change the name of the game when I want to host to see if people can connect to me...

OK - that was weird.

Impulse said Sins wasn't installed after I installed Entrenchment. Yet Entrenchment was opening and saying 1.01, so it MUST have been installed. After re-installing Sins, Entrenchment still says 1.01, but at least I can now change a game name.

Still don't know if I can join/host yet

Zip up your mesh folder and send it to support@ironcladgames.com.

Uninstall the game, and make sure you [Shift + Delete] the game folder from the install dir.
Furthermore, delete your game settings from:

  • Windows 7: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting\user.setting
  • Vista: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting\user.setting
  • XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting\user.setting

Do not install from your CD. Download a copy of your game from Impulse. It will download, patch and install it all for you.

Another possible solution:

Go into the application folder (right click in Impulse, select 'Open application folder'), and there are three different 'Mesh' folders. The first is in the root folder, and there may be two more, depending on which version of the game you have, in the \Entrenchment and \Diplomacy folders. Delete everything in those folders, then right click on the game(s) in Impulse, and select 'Verify Installation'. Impulse will check the integrity of the installed application, and an update should be made available in Impulse. This is not an update to a newer version, but simply Impulse using the update mechanism to replace the missing files. Once you complete the update, reboot your computer.
